Before he enters the room, he bumps into fellow ACES roster member, Jay Bradley.*




Jay: Mr. Funk, it's an honor to meet finally meet you! *Shakes hands* It's a privilege to say that you and I represented ACES in that "Super P Cup Rumble". Damn shame you were eliminated in the final 3.

Funk: I didn't win that sumbitch, but I had fun raisin' hell out there! The pleasure was all mine, kid. You kicked major ass in that ring and held out longer than a lot of these vets i've known for years. You reminded me of a good friend of mine from Texas. 

Jay: Thank you, Mr. Funk. Any advice you can give me? How the hell did you last that long in the Rumble?


Funk: Kid, maybe you shouldn't get advice from a crazy bastard like me. But I think I know someone who could give the best advice you could ask for. Let me introduce you to my friend "Stan Hansen" after I get dressed! We're gonna go get beers after we leave here.

*Terry Funk and Jay Bradley enter a dingy old bar, an hour or two before closing. The smell of cigarettes and booze gives Funk a homely feeling. At the bar, is a big bad North Texas Cowboy, shouting for another drink. It's none other than ACES roster member, Stan "Lariat" Hansen.*   




*Both men walk toward Hansen, Funk leading the way*

Funk: Surprised this crazy sumbitch didn't close this bar down! *Motions to give Hansen a hug*

Hansen: These bastards ain't got enough booze in here to get me that drunk! *Hugs Funk but notices Jay Bradley standing behind Funk, looking on* Who the hell is this pretty boy and what makes him think he can eyeball me like that? *Gets face to face with Bradley*

Funk: *Get's in between both men* Hey now, Stan, the kid is good company. I wanted to introduce him to you. He's apart of ACES and a hell of a wrassler.

Bradley: *Backs up and signals for a handshake* Mr. Hansen, I mean no disrespect. My name is Jay Bradley. I'm also apart of ACES and I just wanted to tell you that you are a HUGE inspiration to me.

Hansen: *Looks at Bradley's hand then looks into his eyes* You don't just walk up ta me and think you get my dangum respect. If I was an influence for you, you would know you EARN my respect. *Turns around and walks back to his barstool* But if you're Funkers buddy, then take a seat, shut your mouth and drink!

*Bradley stays silent, with a stern look on his face and his fists clenched*

Funk: Don't take what he says serious, kid. He's a little buzzed and he's being a dick. Let him warm up to ya, first. Take a seat... first round on me!

*After a few brews, all three men begin discussing ACES. "Lariat" still hasn't warmed up to Bradley.*

Funk: Who else do you think is going to get drafted to ACES?

Bradley: Honestly...

Hansen:*Interrupting* HONESTLY, I could give two shits who is on the roster! They're all gettin an old fashioned beatdown from the "Lariat"!

Funk: Ya cocky bastard, I'm being serious. They already got a roster full of tough bastards, signed! I've been keeping a close eye on the this draft and i'm impressed. Anyways, i'm gonna go outside and catch a breath of fresh air.

*Funk walks outside the bar and goes to take a leak, behind the building*

*He get's to the side of the bar, when he hears a commotion in the back*

Security: Hey, there's no pissing outside here!

Voice: Can't a guy just take a leak in peace? Sheesh, i'm making room for more booze, ya prick! I'm doing you guys a favor, helping you turn a profit!

Security: Get the hell out of here, before...

Voice: Before what? You're gonna make me move?

*Funk walks toward the commotion and see's 3 security guards, surrounding 1 man*



*Funk Recognizes the face from the ACES Draft page, it's number 1 draft pick, Jon "Dean Ambrose" Moxley!*

Funk: It's ok there, officers! The kids with me! Couldn't hold it in, but we'll be on our way!

Security: Get him the hell out of here, NOW! *Security starts to walk away*

Moxley: You shouldn't treat paying customers this way! I'm surprised no one has burnt this place down, because of the shitty customer service! Animals, all of you... Fucking animals!

*Security stops from walking inside, while Funk tries to pull Moxley back to the front*

Terry: Come on kid, before you get yourself into some trouble...

Mox: Maybe it's trouble i'm looking for? Did you ever think of that?! 

Funk: *Smiles while dragging Moxley to the front* I like your style, kid. I really do, but you can't afford to get in any trouble, any time soon. Especially since the first show of ACES is coming so soon. 

Mox: What the hell do you know about ACES?

Funk: I know you're the first draft pick, so you obviously are valuable to the company.

Mox: I don't really care what number I was, for what. I just wanted to relieve myself and finish getting shit faced for the night.

Funk: Come on, kid. I'll show you where those asshole security guards parked and we can piss on their cars together. Then you can come inside and get shit faced.. On my tab.  

Mox: Interesting proposal, old man, but I already got people, i'm gonna meet. 

Funk: Looks like they left you high and dry. This place is gonna close in 20 minutes. If you stick with me, we can stay inside, after hours. I know the owners and we can get shit faced.... Together.

Mox: *Thinks about it for a brief second* Fuck it, I can meet them another time. Let's hurry up, i've been needing to piss like a racehorse for the past 15 minutes!

Funk: The names, Terry, by the way.

*Coldwater, Michigan. Inside a private training gym, the front door opens and ACES 2nd draft pick, Alex Shelley,walks in.*




*At first glance, he see's wrestling mats, an Octagon and a wrestling ring*

*After taking a few steps, he spots Kota Ibushi and TJ Perkins already stretching and warming up.*




@lex: Sup guys!? Is this everybody that's gonna be here?

TJ: Dude! Didn't think you were gonna show! *gives @lex a hug* Rumor has it we got like 2 or 3 more people coming. 

@lex: So when is class starting?

TJ: The special "Guest" is finishing his beginner class right now and then our special "Seminar" begins. 

*Ibushi nods in the opposite direction of the room and shows @lex where the special "trainer" is.* 




@lex: Oh shit, Dan Severn is teaching this class!?

TJ: I know, dude. Whoever is running ACES, is making this pretty fun for the rest of us!

*Suddenly, the front door opens again and the newest roster member of ACES walks in, "Kyle O'Reilly"*



O'Reilly: Hey guys, names, Kyle! *Shakes all 3 gentleman's hands* You're here for the special training seminar?

TJ: Nah. We're just here, trying to loiter inside the building.

*The boys are interrupted by Dan Severn, who walks up to all 4 of them with a welcoming smile*


Severn: Boys! Welcome to my home away from home! *Shakes all 4 roster members, hands* It's a true honor that you kids came. I know you kids don't need any special training. Management wanted you guys to work with a vet like myself before the first show. 

@lex: Mr. Severn, it's an honor to get this opportunity. Is this everyone that is attending? 

*BAM!*

*The front door is kicked open and an intense looking individual walks in, with his training gear, ready to go. He walks up to Dan and gives him a firm handshake*

 
 
"Nice to meet you Mr. Severn, the name is Chris Dickinson. It's an honor and a privilege, sir." 

Severn: The pleasure is all mine, young man. Class is about to start. 

Dickinson: Wait, all these other guys are training, too?

Severn: Yes sir, thought we'd all train together, get to know each other. Maybe show you guys a few of my tricks.

Dickinson: With all due respect sir, but I thought this was going to be a one on one personal training session. I'm not all about this Kum bah yah, kiddie bullshit. 

Severn: Kid, I hand picked each and everyone of you to come train with me today. You're all here for a reason and if you have a problem, you can walk out the door.

*Dickinson, looks at the door, then sneers at the other four before throwing his bag against the wall and walking towards the ring.*

TJ: Serious, much? 

@lex: Shotgun, he's Ibushi's training partner!

*Chris Hero is carrying his bags as he's going down an elevator. He feels a tap behind his right shoulder. He looks behind him and see's a familiar face.*



*It's his old friend from Chikara Pro Wrestling and fellow ACES roster member, "Ricochet"!*

Hero: Heeey you! Haven't seen you in years! Look at you, looking like a stud, kid!

Ricochet: What's going on bro-ski!? *Hugs Hero* Long time no see! Just been bobbing around the world until ACES drafted me.

Hero: Yeah, same here. Stayed in Florida for awhile, next thing I know, I wake up and i'm drafted to ACES. 

Ricochet: Yeah, dude, so you're staying in the same hotel or what?

Hero: I think. If you're staying in the Hilton, then yeah.

Ricochet: Awesome, maybe we can split a cab, talk some shop?

Security in the background: We got a runner!

*The men hear commotion at the top of the escalator. Before they can look up to see what's going on, they reach the bottom of the stairs near the entrance and flag for a cab to take them to the Hilton in Downtown.*

*Moments after checking in to the Hilton, they meet up at the restaurant inside the hotel.*

Ricochet: It's crazy we get to work together again. You look like a beast! Did you see who else got drafted?

Hero: Hansen, Kobashi, Funk, Severn, Orton, Nakamura... The list goes on and on!

Ricochet: Then you got the young guns like @lex Shelley, Jay Bradley, Calihan, Moxley, KENTA, Ibushi... Man, I can't wait to get in that ring! The competition is gonna be siiiick!

Voice in the background: You forgot Machine Gun and Albert, kid!

*Both men hear the voice coming from behind Ricochet's booth and see roster members, "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson and Lord Albert aka "Bad Intensions" sitting behind them, having a few beers.*



Hero: Karl, Albert! What is up, guys, long time no see! Take a seat with us!

*All four men share a booth and begin catching up*

Albert: Hey, as long as they're paying, i'll dance my happy ass all the way to the bank!

*All four men begin laughing*

Karl: So, Hero, you got anyone watching your back?

Ricochet: Well, I got his back!

Albert: No one is worried about you!

Ricochet: They should be! I go harder than black metal!

Albert: *Dismisses the comment* Seriously tho, you should think about it, kid.

Hero: I'm good the way, I am. Besides, like Rico' said, he's got my back! *Winks at Ricochet*

Karl: If you ever need "real" back-up, come talk to me and A-Train over here! *Clinks pint glass with Albert* We can talk business, *looks at Ricochet* in a more "private" setting.

Ricochet: Why are you guys so concerned with "back-up" and "business"? This ACES thing should be fun!

Albert: Let's just say you guys weren't the first ACES members we met at this hotel! *Clinks his pint glass with Karl one more time*


Hero: Well, i'm gonna go to my room already, I gotta go to the gym early in the morning, amongst other things. We don't have that much longer til the first ACES show, so might as well get prepared. *Anderson scoots out the way so Hero can get up.* You alright Rico'?

Ricochet: Well... if you're going to bed....

Albert: *Interrupting* NAH! He's fine! He can kick back and hang out with us! Right, kid!? *Puts one arm over Ricochet and squeezes the life out of him*

Ricochet: I guess! Just let me get a hair trimmer and an oxygen tank!

Hero: *laughs* Alright, night boys!

*Anderson waits for Hero to leave before nodding at Albert*

Karl: Yo, "A", let's order some Vegas bombs right now, for all 3 of us!

Albert: *Squeezing tighter on Ricochet's neck* Hell yeah! Let's prank "Nakamura", again!

*Its closing time and Jon Moxley, Terry Funk, Jay Bradley and Stan Hansen are taking shots of Jack at the bar.*




Funk: Hot Damn! One more round, for everyone!

Moxley: Not a bad idea, old man! Keep the poison flowing!

*Suddenly they hear a banging at the entrance door*

*All four men look to the door*

Bartender: (Grabbing a baseball bat from underneath the bar) Probably some drunk trying to get in. *Yells* We're closed!

*The bartender continues to hear banging and decides to run off the hooligans outside*

Bradley: Wonder who it is?

Moxley: You shouldn't worry about who is behind the door, you should worry about what they will do, once they get through that door.

Hansen: You sayin' we ain't tough enough to take them?

Moxley: I'm saying, if you want to look for a fight, look no further, "Lariat"!

Hansen: *Get's up from his stool and get's nose to nose with Moxley* You got balls, kid!

Moxley: It's all I got.

*Funk and Bradley try to get in between the both of them*

Funk Come on now, Stan! Leave the kid alone, always gotta stir shit with the young bucks!

Moxley: "Cowboy" can stand up for himself, no one needs to fight his fights for him, right "Cowboy"?

Bradley: *Trying to keep Hansen back* Come on Mr. Hansen. Keep it cool.

Hansen: Keep yer pretty boy hands off me! *Pie faces Bradley* I will drop you where you stand, if you touch me one more time, boy!

*Bartender and the hooligans outside begin to argue in the front*

Funk: Stanley! Lay off the kids, will ya!? For Fucks sake!?

Stan: *Getting in the face of Bradley* You know what's the difference between you and that kid Moxley? That kid has a bigger set of grapefruits than you do! He ain't afraid of no confrontation, he ain't scared to get in a fight and he ain't afraid to stand up for himself!

Moxley: Disrespect! Get'em Cowboy! *Funk tries to shut him up*

Bradley: Mr. Hansen, you've had too much to drink. I'm just trying to keep it cool, sir. I mean no disrespect.

Stan: *Slaps Bradley across the face* Disrespect!? Boy, you disrespected me the moment you thought you could ride the coattails of Terry Funk and "The Lariat" by kissing our asses!

*Bradley is offended by the remark and tries to Keep his cool in front of his childhood, idol*

*BAM!*

*Bradley lays out Hansen with a stiff right hand!*

Hansen drunkenly stumbles back up to his feet and goes for a tackle on Bradley!

BAR FIGHT!*

*Hansen and Bradley begin crashing into tables and stools before the bartender and Funk try to break things up. Moxley stays at the bar, pouring himself shot after shot.*

*BOOM!*

*Both Jay and Stan stop fighting as they hear the echo of a shotgun going off.*

Bartender: Terry, I love you, but you and your friends need to get the FUCK OUT, NOW! And you! *Looks at Moxley with the shotgun while he's taking a shot* You're paying for those! *Moxley sloppily spits the shot back into the glass*

*Stan Hansen Picks up his Cowboy Hat And heads for the door*

Hansen: This is some bullshit! Kid, *Turns and points to Jay Bradley* you just signed your goddamn death warrant!

*Bradley is held back by Funk as Hansen exits the building*

Moxley: Chaos.... I fucking live for this shit!

Funk: Come'on, let's call it a night. I'll call you guys a cab, on me. *Throws Bartender a few bills* Here's for the rounds and the damages. I do apologize.

*Two cabs pull up as Terry walks Jay to his cab*

Bradley: I'm sorry Mr. Funk. I took it too far. I shoulda used my head!

Terry: No worries, kid! You stood up for yerself and shut that prick up! If you know Hansen, you know what you've gotten yourself into. Just keep it in the ring with him, alright?

Bradley: *Enters the cab* Thanks Mr. Funk. I'll see you at the hotel! It was an honor, sir!

*Funk then walks Moxley, who doesn't really want to enter the cab*

Moxley: Old man, you ain't gotta take care of me. You're better off worrying about yourself.

Funk: Kid, I've had all this time to worry about myself. I'm just looking out for the future of this biz.

Moxley: There is no future in this biz. Chaos is going to reign and there's nothing that no one can do about it... I like you old man. So i'm going to give you a warning. It's only a matter of time before shit hits the fan.

Funk: What ya mean?!

Moxley: I know who's coming to ACES and it's a matter of time before they destroy it all.

Funk: Who, kid?

Moxley: It doesn't matter who's knockin, it matters what they're gonna do. My advice? *Enters cab* Get out the way, before you get run over. Leave this company, before it's too late.

Funk: Is this why you don't care about being the first draft for ACES? You don't think you can save this place?

Mox: This place was doomed from the beginning.

Funk: Kid, you might be a bit more than shit faced. But let me tell you something. Wrestling is my passion. Wrestling is my only love. I see ACES doing big things for pro wrestling, so if there's a threat, you better believe i'll be in the front lines, ready to fight til the end.

Mox: Well then.... i'll see you on the front lines, old man!

*The Cab rolls out as Funk walks to his truck*

Funk: *takling to himself* The kids crazy but he's got a lot of guts.

Bartender: Reminds me a lot of you! *locking front door*

*At one corner of the room, Chris Dickinson and Kyle O'Reilly are taking turns kicking a kick shield.*



*At another corner, Alex Shelley and Dan Severn are grappling in an octagon.* 


*At another corner, TJ Perkins and Kota Ibushi are sparring.*


*Dickinson begins to get a little too rough as O'Reilly is holding the Kick Shield*
*O'Reilly sucks it up until a kick goes a little too high and brazes the temple of his head*

O'Reilly: Alright man, take it easy, you're not hitting your mark.

Dickinson: *Stops kicking and get's in O'Reilly's face* Who said I didn't hit my mark!? Who said I even wanted you to be my partner?!

O'Reilly: I can honestly give two craps what you want. Mr. Severn paired us up for a reason, so I'm not questioning it.


Dickinson: *takes the shield from O'Reilly and get's in position* Alright, come on!

*O'Reilly seems a little confused but begins to throw Roundhouses at the shield.*

Dickinson: Harder you Pussy! You ain't got the guts to be my partner!

*O'Reilly throws a heavy Right Roundhouse that makes a lout THUD when it connects*

Dickinson: Do it again! I dare you to grow a pair and hit harder!

*O'Reilly doesn't hesitate and lands one that echoes*

Dickinson: You call that a fucking kick?! A FUCKING DISGRACE YOU ARE, O'REILLY!

*O'Reilly gets fed up and repeatedly throws thunderous kicks to the bag. Everyone stops training and watches O'Reilly desimate the bag while Dickinson encourages him to hit harder*

Dickinson: Come on O'Reilly, you're gonna stay a nobody if you continue to hit like a pussy!

*BAM!*

*Suddenly a dead silence fills the room.*

*O'Reilly accidentally kicked Dickinson in the face*

*Severn tells Shelley to hold back as Dickinson stands there, in an enraged daze*

*Dickinson looks at O'REilly and shoves the shield into his chest.*

*Before there is an altercation, Severn walks up*

*Sakuraba gets in the face of Severn, but "the Beast" does not stand down*

Severn: If you want to do this, we got an Octagon right here. We don't gotta wait for ACES, bub! 

*Sakuraba looks at the Octagon and laughs before walking out the door. Severn never leaves his eyes off "Saku"*

Severn: I'm sorry, but I refuse to do business with someone who does not care about the well being of other Professional wrestlers. He thinks their beneath him since he did so well in MMA. The nerve of some people!

Kobashi: *Translated via-google "Jos"* I apologize, "Saku" wanted to get you in a frenzie. I just wanted to know if it's too late for KENTA to participate. He's very interested in learning from a Martial Arts veteran such as yourself.

Severn: *Looks at Dickinson* My spots are full, but I could find room for one more.

Dickinson: *looks at Severn then looks at KENTA* This piece of crap don't deserve to be here. *Picks up bags and heads towards the door* And neither do I! *Leaves*

Kobashi: There's always one of them in the bunch.

*As Dickinson walks outside, he bumps in to Saku. Dickinson introduces himself and the two begin to converse...*

Devitt: You splittin on us? I thought we were gonna stick together?!

*All 3 Get to the bottom of the escalator*

*The cab drives off as Sabre Jr. goes back up the escalator to find a drink.*

*Sabre can't find a bar and falls asleep for an hour or two on a bench, before being awakened by a familiar face*

This is all good... But I definitely find the Whiskey-drinkers' storyline more compelling than the gym-rats or the lost-at-the-airport bunch. But that's OK-- I think it's clear at this point that Moxley / Funk is going to be your money feud....

I'm surprised that Orton hasn't made his presence felt yet....

Randy Orton: You know, being drafted to ACES is a big deal to me. I've been there, done that. I've pretty much done it all in this business and there isn't much left to fight for. Then I look at the roster of ACES and see a roster of warriors who are hungry to prove themselves. Not too many on that roster have accomplished what I've accomplished and that makes me a target at the top of this mountain.

I'm prepared for battle and i'm ready for whichever challenge lays ahead of me. As one of the most decorated professional wrestlers on the ACES roster, I have a great pride in leading the way and helping out anyway I can. Now that I see who the heel faction is, I'm really torn as to which side Moxley will fall on. It's suspenseful...

You've really taken (what I, at least, would call) a pretty iffy roster and made me care about them with good storytelling....

You've made me research some Jay Bradley, and I've decided that he a)still has a terrible tattoo, and b) has done the worst work of his career in TNA. Some of his independent work is outstanding.

Also, +1 if you have Dickinson no show his bookings. Since that's sort of his thing, especially this past weekend.

Jay Bradley has some awesome matches people haven't seen. I remember him vs. Kyle O'Reilly making me a huge Jay Bradley fan.

LOL about the Dickinson no show. I heard about it, but I never found out why he no showed. I still a fan tho. Just hope he has better luck next time. The dude always seems to be held back for one thing or another.

Not that I take offense to it, but when I see this roster, I get pumped as shit about the possibilities. I would like to see what others opinions are, just out of curiosity.

I guess my philosophy is, I don't need big recognizable names to make any of this work. I just need to understand their characters and put them in the right spots to tell a compelling story.

That's what I've been working on in my own promotion-- building George and Barr and Jannetty and Spike (for example) into bigger deals than their draft positions would indicate....

I definitely agree about making your own homegrown stars and giving them more meaning than the naked eye would give. You're doing a great job with that, one example being the spike Dudley stuff.
