I'm not a huge fan of Japanese wrestling, so a lot of Jos's card is just meh for me, and doing mystery opponents works in real life, but kind of falls flat in these things. Also, the two main events for Solly's card are wicked awesome, and his undercard has some fun matchups in it as well. Giving the nod to Solly in this one.

Pyro goes off all over the arena and it's show time in Houston, Texas!! Fireworks go off and your guest announcers for the evening are none other than Gabe Sapolsky and Excalibur!!

Gabe: Welcome everyone to ACES 1: "Give it All"! We are here in H-Town and we're ready to start things off with a bang!

Excalibur: Not only do we have the ACES Rumble, not only do we have Dan Severn competing, but we got a crazy ass 6 man elimination match, to start off the show!

Megadeth's - Holy Wars (The Punishment Due) blares on the arena speakers as Chris Dickinson makes his way to the ring, microphone in hand.

Dickinson: I'll be damned if Quinton "Rampage" Jackson thinks he can start the show without me! You guys want a real match that shows you what ACES is all about!? I'll give you one! Raise down that cage and bring out my opponent!

*The cage lowers and the lights go out! The lights cut back on and "Manik Suicide" stands behind Dickinson!*

*Before CD can attack, the ref get's in between both competitors and makes the formal introductions and explains that this match will be 3 rounds/5 minutes a round. Wins can only be pin, submission or KO. No rope breaks, no escape.*

*The bell rings and both men begin circling each other.*

-Dickinson checks a few leg kicks and clinches up to land some knees to the body!*
-Suicide looks to be in trouble but manages to get a take down and go for the mount!*
-Dickinson slides out from under and gives a thunderous kick to the chest and back of Suicide!*
-Suicide turns over on his hands and knees and gets punted in the head by Dickinson!*
-Knock Out! Chris Dickinson has knocked out Manik Suicide! The ref calls the bell and Dickinson has won this match in timely fashion!

The crowd rise to their feet as the intense Dickinson grabs the mic.

Remember the Goddamn face! Remember the Goddamn name! CHRIS DICKINSON!

All 6 competitors for the elimination match enter the ring and get the formal introductions. The winner will draw number 30 when they enter the ACES Rumble!

- This match is full of exciting, non-stop action!
- Zack Sabre Jr. and Akira Tozawa work as a cohesive unit, early on in the match.
- Emil Sitoci shows off his athleticism but is eliminated first by Zack Sabre Jr. via Armbar
- Samuray Del Sol and Ricochet show off their amazing High Flying ability, impressing the crowd. Del Sol is eliminated by Sami Callihan via Stretch Muffler, when Ox distracts Del Sol.
- Ricochet is eliminated by Tozawa via Stretcher German Suplex
- Sabre Jr is eliminated by Sami when Tozawa accidentally pump kicks Sabre and rolls up Sabre for the flash pin.

Akira Tozawa and Sami Callihan are the last two! Who will win and become the last entrant in the ACES Rumble!?

Sami and Tozawa go hell for leather and exchange brutal strikes! Both shake off a brutal forearm exchange and pick up the pace! Tozawa hits the ropes and goes for a bicycle kick to Calihan! Calihan bounces off the ropes with a pump kick of his own!
Tozawa uses the momentum to hit another bicycle kick! Calihan hits the ropes and lands a lariat the brings both men down! The crowd pops in approval!

Both men get to their feet before the 10 count, Tozawa ducks another lariat and hits a German Suplex Bridge! Ox Baker get's up and distracts the ref! Tozawa lands a bicycle to Ox and the big man goes down to the outside! Sami hits a Hammerlock DDT and locks in the Stretch Muffler! Tozawa refuses to tap! The crowd makes noise and roots on for the "Red Bullet"! Tozawa makes it to the ropes but the ref is distracted by Ox! Callihan drags Tozawa back to the MIddle and torques on the stretch Muffler!

Tozawa refuses to tap! Suddenly, Callihan begins stomping on the head of Tozawa while holding the submission. The ref stops Callihan, calls for the bell and gives Sami the win!

The crowd begins to boo as Ox and Sami celebrate in the ring!

Ox Baker: *Grabs microphone* You see what happens when you get in the way of the Death Machine?! Ya get fed to the Death Machine! No matter if it's me or Sami, NO ONE wants us as ACES Champion!

*They walk out through the crowd. Carrying the Super P Cup Titles and Trophy*
*Tozawa slowly rises to his feet while the Houston crowd give Tozawa a standing ovation for a gutsy performance!*

Chris Hero emerges to the song "Bonfire" by Childish Gambino while @lex Shelley makes his entrance to "All These Things" by the Hounds Below. This match will be contested under "World of Sport Rules". For those unfamiliar; No fist strikes, 3-5;3-5 minute rounds, 3 rope breaks, 1 warning 2 minus rope breaks no rope break you're dq-ed.

-First round begins with @lex and Hero technically grappling to a stalemate. They dazzle the fans with complex and precise holds and submissions that are countered and reversed to the delight of everyone! 5 minutes pass and the round ends. No one has a clear cut advantage.

-2nd round starts off with the same holds and counter holds until Hero attempts a rolling elbow! The crowd gasps at the change of pace, luckily, @lex scouts the elbow and shoots the back for a takedown. He gets Hero in a mexican surfboard which warrants a rope break from Hero. Before the end of the bell, @lex begins to work the arm of Hero, to weaken his opponents deadly elbows.

-3rd round starts and Hero ignores Shelleys attempt at grappling and hits a boot to the face! Hero begins to wear down the neck of Shelley with strikes. That Young KO Kid begins to go back to his grassroots and applies a cravat to put pressure on the neck of Shelley. A cravat toss and a cravat buster is also used by Hero. Shelley finally breaks free of the cravat and hits a superkick! He runs the ropes and lands another superkick! Hero is dazed! Shelley hits the Shellshock but the round ends before he can get a pin!

- The 4th round begins and both men seemed determined to pick up the pace! Shelley runs directly at Hero and they begin to show off their Lucha Skills! Shelley tries to win by hitting "El Torneo", "La Lanza" and "La Magistral Cradle". Hero shows his resilience and begins using his uncanny agility to stay in the game! The crowd is in awe as Hero bounces around the ring like a cruiserweight. A man his size is usually limited. Hero finally gets the advantage and hits the "Hero's Welcome"! 1...2.. Shelley grabs the rope and uses one rope break, both men now have 2 rope breaks left! The bell rings and they head to the 5th and final round!

-The 5th round begins and they both leave it all in the ring! @lex goes strike for strike with Hero until a very precise elbow finds his mark and drops Shelley to the floor! The Ref begins the 10 count but Shelley regains his bearings at 9! Hero goes for a rolling elbow but Shelley counters it into the Border City Stretch! Hero is about to reach the ropes but the time limit expires!

-The crowd chants for "5 more minutes". Hero and Shelley want to settle the score!

- Suddenly, Charlie Kelly dressed in a shirt and tie with a briefcase in hand, heads towards the ring..

Charlie: Look guys, you had your match, you both couldn't get the advantage but we can't do five more minutes.

*Crowd chants for 5 more minutes*

Charlie: You all need to plea fifth right now! Look! I know a lot about the law and various other lawyerings, you gotta trust me on this one, guys. They can't do five more minutes because they got a rumble they're holding up! We'll pop those trunks off in the back and we can hit the showers and save our energy for the Rumble going on later today. Alright? Thank you all for your time! Filibuster!

Shinsuke Nakamura and his girlfriend Kana enter the ring and demand a microphone. "Swaggsuke" mutters only two words. "Raaaannndddyyyy Orrrtuuuuunn!"

The crowd pops as "Stranglehold" by Ted Nugent blares in the arena. The "Viper" Randy Orton takes slow strides to the ring. A ref runs out and makes the introductions.

Both men go back and forth and show they are evenly matched. The "Apex Predator" and Nakamura have similar tendencies and the same killer instinct. The die hard fans chant for Nakamura while the women and children chant for Orton.

Nakamura finally get's the advantage when Kana distracts Orton. After a back and forth match, Shinsuke signals for the "Boma-Ye"! He runs up to a fallen Orton for the Knee Strike but Orton pops up from the floor and hits the "RKO"! Orton gets the pin and the win, much to the delight of the crowd!

Orton extends his hand for a handshake. But the Japanese Warrior looks on, before blowing him a kiss and rolling out the ring. Orton poses for the crowd one more time.

KENTA/KENTA Kobashi vs. Terry Funk/Jon Moxley: Both teams start hot and heavy and the action goes back and forth with the pace always picking up.

Kobashi and Funk go at it with a heated unspoken rivalry. KENTA and Moxley go at a fast pace trying to upstage the veterans. Kobashi and Funk tag back in and go at each others throats with a slower but more brutal pace; going tit for tat with chops, right hands and slaps. The crowd pops and winces with every brutal strike!

Moxley tags in, willing to show Funk that he can handle his own with Kobashi. Funk doesn't want to wait too long, as he blind tags back in and both veterans go back to exchanging chops and punches, much to the delight of the crowd. KENTA blind tags himself in and wears down Funk with his precise and deadly kicks. Almost knocking out Funk with a slap heard 'round the Toyota Center!

Funk won't go down so easily as the crowd keeps cheering him on. After a few minutes of punishment, Moxley gets the hot tag and cleans house. He takes down both KENTA's and avoids all double team moves his opponents try to attempt. Mox is a house of fire and signals the end of the match. Mox get's Kobashi ready for the "Snap Headlock Driver" when KENTA comes out of nowhere with a kick to the chest to Mox. At the same time, Kobashi uses the momentum and hits a stiff Backdrop Driver! Moxley folds in half but bounces towards his side of the ring. Funk gets the blind tag, while Mox rolls out the ring. Funk lands several right punches on both opponents before missing a double lariat. The KENTA's simultaneously connect with a spinning back chop/Roundhouse Kick combo that drops Funk! 1...2...No! Funk Stays in it! The crowd goes mad! KENTA hits the Go 2 Sleep on Funk! Terry Funk won't stay down as he once again kicks out at 2! The city of Houston can't believe it! KENTA signals for the end and get's Funk ready for a second G2S! He connects! The ref counts three for the KENTA's and this one is over!

The crowd jump to their feet and give all four men a standing ovation. KENTA checks on his mentor when suddenly....

BAM!

Sami Callihan and Ox Baker hit the ring with Kendo sticks and attack the KENTA's! Callihan tee's away on KENTA while Ox begins choking Kobashi as blood gushes from his forehead! The Funker gets to his feet and automatically starts throwing wild rights to the delight of the crowd. Unfortunately the crowd is silenced as Calliihan kicks Funk in the nuts and breaks the kendo stick over the head of Funk. They begin to stomp on all three men, covering the ring with blood, before Moxley slides in and charges Sami. Callihan easily ducks and sends Mox crashing to the outside through the timekeepers table! The crowd goes nuts! Callihan demands a mic while Ox cleans the ring of the 3 lifeless bodies.

Sami: "We don't want you to join us, we don't want you to cheer us, we don't want your acceptance... We just want you to fear us!

The United States Death Machine will destroy, we will obliterate and we will let chaos reign! This is just a message to the world, we haven't even declared war, yet!"

Callihan drops the mic and exits through the crowd with Ox as "Rampage" Jackson, Randy Orton, Irish Airborne, Stan Hansen, Akira Tozawa and security run to the ring and check on all 4 men.

Rampage: *Grabs a mic* Look at the mess y'all done caused! It don't look like these guys will be able to compete due to the attack from Sami Calihan and Ox Baker! You know what!? Sami, Ox, you're out of the rumble! Security, you see them in house, you escort them out the building!

-Dan Severn vs. Yoshihiro Takayama:

- Both men enter the cage for their "Ultimate Combat Match". The ref get's in between both competitors and makes the formal introductions. He explains that this match will be 3 rounds/10 minutes a round. Wins can only be pin, submission or KO. No rope breaks, no escape.

- The bell rings and Takayama charges Severn, swinging for the fences! Severn goes for a takedown but is caught with a nasty knee to the face!

- Severn drops like a sack of potatoes and Takayama mounts! The ref is about to stop this bout!

-Severn comes to and bucks off Takayama. Before Takayama can get to his feet, Severn takes Takayama down and locks in a Guillotine Choke! Takayama can't escape, the choke is in too deep!

- Takayama refuses to tap for a few seconds but gives in before passing out! The ref stops it and Dan Severn wins via submission!

Excalibur asks for a few words from Severn.

Severn: You know. It was a tough fight. I knew Takayama had the punching power to knock someone out. I got rocked and held on tight until I was ready for him to play my game. Once I regained my bearings, I grinded it out and got my Guillotine in there! Sakuraba, you're next, buddy!

Excalibur: Will you be competing in the ACES Rumble later tonight?

Severn: You bet your ass I am! *Crowd pops*

Gettin Biz-E with Chuck-E-T:

Chuck Taylor cuts a promo talking about bringing "Sexy" to ACES. He talks about his "friends" having his back in ACES.

Emil Sitoci interrupts and tells him he was bringing "Sexy" to ACES before Chuck stepped foot in ACES.

They both go back and forth and begin to brawl it out.

- Number 1 is Jay Bradley and Number 2 is Drew Mc Intyre!

- Rich Swann impresses with his high flying arsenal before he is eliminated by Drew Mc Intyre.

- Jinder Mahal is #4 and helps Drew double team Jay Bradley. The 3MB reunion is brief, as Drew get's knocked down by a boot and Jinder is eliminated by a nasty Lariat from Bradley.

- Emil Sitoci is eliminated by Jay Bradley after being distracted by "Sexy" Chucky T

- Drew Mc Intyre, Prince Devitt and Albert eliminate Kazushi Sakuraba signifying an alliance. Then begin beating up on Zack Sabre Jr.

- Chris Dickinson helps Jay Bradley eliminate Lord Albert

- Ibushi enters and brawls it out with Chris Dickinson

- Karl Anderson, Prince Devitt and Drew eliminate Kota Ibushi, signifying another alliance

- Ultramantis Black, Samuray Del Sol and Super Delfin eliminate Alex Kozlov and Vladimir Kozlov. They signify their alliance as the Kozlovs go mad, outside the ring. Alex let's everyone know he knew they were up to something.

-Karl Anderson is eliminated by Jay Bradley, saving Stan Hansen from Elimination

- Prince Devitt get's caught in an armbar next to the top rope by Sabre Jr. Sabre uses his weight to drag Devitt over the top rope and eliminate him. Devitt slides back in and attacks Sabre Jr. Drew uses the distraction to eliminate Sabre Jr.!

- Del Sol and Delfin are eliminated simultaneously by Stan Hansen. The Russians come back and brawl with the masked duo.

- Randy Orton eliminates Drew Mcintyre to the delight of the crowd.

- Hero eliminates Ultra Mantis Black via rolling elbow that sends Black over the top rope.

- Alex Shelley eliminates "Sexy Chucky T" when Emil Sitoci distracts the "Shaman of Sexy"

- Irish Airborne are eliminated by Stan Hansen and Jay Bradley

- Kana is eliminated by Dan Severn. Kana's boyfriend "Shinsuke Nakamura" is not happy!

- Nakamura eliminates Dan Severn when Kana distracts Severn.

- Jon Moxley enters at number 29 to the surprise of the crowd! The crowd goes wild.

-Nakamura, Hero and Alex Shelley are eliminated by Jon Moxley!

- Ricochet is eliminated by Tozawa via German Suplex over the top rope!

-Akira Tozawa impresses the crowd by hitting all his signature maneuvers but is eliminated by Jay Bradley.

- Terry Funk enters last to the surprise of the crowd! The crowd gives an even bigger response to Funk than they did Moxley. Funkster drags himself towards the ring even though he's wrapped up in bandages!

- A mis-calculation causes Stan Hansen and Jay Bradley to brawl it out in the ring. While they are both distracted, Funk surprisingly uses his veteran wit to eliminate the both of them, simultaneously, the crowd goes wild!

The final 4 are now, Jon Moxley, Terry Funk, Randy Orton and Chris Dickinson!The referee signals that the four men can only be eliminated via submission, pinfall or KO!


Funk may have been the last one to enter the rumble, but he's the most exhausted! Him and Moxley roll out the ring as Dickinson begins attacking Orton! All four men competed in matches earlier in the evening but Dickinson seems to have a full tank of gas, due to his early KO win.

Dickinson hits a snapmare on Orton, runs the ropes full speed and kicks Orton in the spine!
Orton immediately gets to his feet and slaps Dickinson, demanding Dickinson to hit him again!

Dickinson smirks and lands a quick spinning back kick to the gut of Orton! Ambrose runs the ropes and hits a one handed Neckbreaker on Orton out of nowhere! Dickinson throws Moxley into Funk and goes for the cover! 1...2...3!

Dickinson has eliminated Orton!

It is now down to Dickinson, Moxley and Funk!

Dickinson stomps down on both men and begins taunting. He feels the freshest out of the three and gets a little cocky. CD locks on to the fragile Terry Funk, while Moxley recuperates outside the ring.

Within seconds, Dickinson is using his precise kicks to drill pain into the body of Funk! Every thunderous kick is followed by a scream of agony by Funk! Dickinson lands a nasty punt to the head of Funk!

1..2...kick out by Funk! The city of Houston can't believe it!

Funk is now bleeding from his forehead! Dickinson yells at the ref and goes for another cover but Funk kicks out again!

Funk can barely get to his hands and knees at this point! Dickinson slowly picks up Funk and signals for the end! Just as Dickinson is about to give the death blow, Funk drops to one knee and BAM!

Moxley collides heads with Dickinson! Dickinson rebounds off the ropes and into the arms of Terry Funk! Small Package! 1...2...3!

Dickinson can't believe it! He's been eliminated by the Funkster! The crowd jump to their feet! Dickinson slides out the ring and brings in a chair! Suddenly, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson and the ref's stop Dickinson and send him to the back.

Both Mox and Funk are the last two and seem to be out of it! The noise from the crowd slowly gets the men to their feet.

Mox and Funk realize they are the last two and the crowd get's pumped for this clash of Old School vs. New School! Mox signals if Funk is ready and the Funkster tells the young gun to bring it on! Both men begin exchanging right hands but Mox shows dominance right off the bat! Funkster's hits slow Moxley down but Moxley changes the tide by targeting his injured ribs and head.

Mox get's a thumb to the eye as Funk shows his veteran wit. The Texas native begins to mount a comeback aand the crowd can't believe it! Funk hits a backdrop and signals for the spinning toe hold! He locks in the submission, when suddenly, there's a ruckus in the crowd. Sami Callihan runs up the apron and distracts the referee!

Funk lets go of the hold and lands a right hand on Sami! Calihan drops to one knee, Funk picks him up, counter into a guillotine by Calihan! Funk bounces off the ropes and side steps a charging Moxley! Mox bumps Calihan off the apron and Funk rolls him up with a school boy! 1...2...3!

Funk eliminates Moxley! The arena goes nuts! No one in the Toyota Center can believe Terry Funk has come this far and won the "ACES Title"!

Randy Orton, Alex Shelley, Chris Hero, Dan Severn and others storm the ring and celebrate with the 1st ever ACES Champion, TERRY FUNK! Callihan runs through the crowd before anyone can get to him.

The surprised look on Moxley's face is washed over with a satisfied smirk. Him and Funk are both down on both knees, trying to recuperate after a long night. Moxley mumbles something to Terry and gets up.

Hero and Bradley try to help Funk to his feet, but he refuses the help. At a slow pace he get's back up on his own and goes for a hug to Moxley. Both men embrace for a second before Moxley let's go and heads out the ring. He looks at the Title, Funk and the ACES logo hanging high on the rafters of the Toyota Center. He mouths the words, "son of a bitch", before leaving back to the locker room. Everyone carries Funk on their shoulders as the crowd celebrates.

I absolutely love Jos's card and I say that as someone who thinks Funk isn't a great main eventer. But everything else is phenomenal and I'd pay good money to see his entire show. I'd pay to see a few matches on Solly's. And for as much as Wargames gets overused on these showdowns, I actually love the Royal Rumble more but they don't get used a ton in showdowns, so I appreciate that being used.

I love Rumbles & battle Royals probably more than anyone on the board. But in this game... they look like "I don't know what else to do so I'll toss them all in a battle Royal." I didn't count it against him because it's his ME, but it's hard to comment on a match like that without watching it.

1. Not to give anything away, but the Super P Cup Tag Tourney is the next show. Thought we'd focus on the singles Title since it hasn't been established yet.

2. The reason I made the Main Event a Rumble is because I needed a platform to shoot off angles right off the bat

3. I loved the ending to the Rumble and had to put it as my first show since it plays with who my champion is.

Ultimate Combat rules is gonna be my excuse for a "MMA Fight" but with a wrestling twist to it. Kinda like RINGS and all those other work/shoot promotions

Love: I've written a few Rumbles for my cards before. Super hard to write, but Rumbles are always fun. Funk/Moxley vs. the KENTAs would be great. Same for Hero vs. Shelley
Like: Maybe the 6 Man-Elimination.
Meh: I don't like mystery opponents for pay-per-views. I want to know what I'm paying for.

My original vote was for Solly, but turns out after a breakdown of each card, I'd watch Amazing Jos first.
