Gonna do this a little differently this time around to make it a little easier on me. Instead of doing Up Next threads in advance of the poll and then a separate voting thread, I'm gonna combine them and just lock the poll until it's ready to launch. This will still give people time to debate the pros and cons of each of the contestants before voting goes live....and it makes things easier for me to administer.

So here we go - our first round of the Supervillain Showdown has Marvel's top baddie Dr. Doom going up against DC's #8 Two-Face.

I don't see much of a contest here....but if anyone feels strongly for Two-Face, better get talking!

Kidding. This is a tough one. Two-face is really a classic, and probably should have seeded much higher than he did, but Doom is really at the top of the food chain when it comes to Marvel villains. I think I'll sit this one out.

In my opinion, Doom is the coolest villain in the whole contest. Joker's a not-too-close second, but Doom's simply the shit.
