Lucky, Venom is no longer Eddie Brock, correct. Eddie got cancer and Venom rejected him. Eddie sold the symbiote in an auction. Some mobster guy got it and gave it to his pussy son, who Venom also rejected (by spitting him out of the symbiote in mid air, killing him. That's cool as fuck). The symbiote is now bonded to Mac Gargan, formerly The Scorpion. While I've never been a Scorp fan, I'm glad they gave the symbiote to a guy who does hate Peter Parker and has no redeeming qualities. Venom started to get tired because Eddie ended up being not that bad of a guy after he was done with the Peter-hating and the MJ-kidnapping. And him getting cancer made him a sympathetic character. With Gargan, Venom gets to be straight up evil once again.
