I was going to agree with Court. If you don't limit yourself to the comics, its hard to compete with Darth Vader when it comes to iconic supervillains. Hannibal Lecter comes close. Moriarty might match him, but he's hampered by the fact that (unlike Holmes) he doesn't have a "look."
