If a player is drafted and waived, should the player's Keeper Value be his drafted position or that of a Free Agent?

I like the idea of free agent value in a perfect world, but it would just open up too many cans of worms, I think, so better keeping it the way it is.

A vote for "Original Draft Value" is a vote of "no confidence" toward your fellow league members.

I think back to the year that Tom Brady got hurt. He was the second overall pick. He gets hurt in the first game, and Moose, to the best of my recollection, kept him on IR until he needed those slots for players that were going to return that season, so he dropped him towards the end of the season. If someone were to pick him up (and someone did), if they go to free agent value, someone gets Tom Brady for the rest of his career, basically. No sell. He was an original first round pick for a reason.

I still disagree with you guys, but what if it was something like "if a player gets cut and then picked up as a free agent his value is X rounds lower". Like, say, you draft Gronk in Round 2, he gets hurt so you cut him. The guy who picks him up gets him as, say, a 5th round keeper the next year? Something like that?

No, I'm not a fan of that Dead. I would like to think that you guys wouldn't screw anyone over intentionally, but the cynic in me says that the potential for abuse is too obvious to allow it. If I decide I no longer want to do football, and I have a first round talent, what's to stop me from telling dev or sharky, hey I'm dropping this guy, pick him up for an easy keeper for next year.

I would like to think that wouldn't happen, but the fact that it could means you should put something in place to prevent it.

That's just my 2 cents.
