Orlando, FL - The wrestling world is buzzing after the latest round of the Pun's House Wrestling draft. Several companies have risen from the draft, including new entries from Psychofish, Dashbee, and Ecosystem (who is teaming with SG for some reason.) But would it really be a wrestling draft if Eric O'Mac (the winner of OO Drafts 3, 5, 6 and 7, as well as PH Drafts 09 and 11) wasn't around? It's for that reason that wrestling reporters from around the globe are present at a press conference held at the WWE Performance Center, awaiting to hear more details about Eric O'Mac's latest wrestling company. All they've heard from the successful wrestling promoter is "it will feature the best wrestling in the world."
The moderator, an announcer who has not been drafted yet, comes to the podium.
Moderator: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Chris Jericho and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat!
The crowd applauds as Chris Jericho and Ricky Steamboat come out. They each acknowledge the crowd and take a seat.
Steamboat: Thank you for coming, ladies and gentlemen of the wrestling world. Allow Chris and myself to introduce to you the latest and greatest wrestling company founded by Eric O'Mac - this is Best In The World Wrestling!
Jericho: The name kind of says it all, doesn't it? This company, above all else, is going to be about the best wrestlers in the world, competing to see who is truly the best. Best In The World Wrestling - or, simply put, Best In The World - will test many difference competitors from different parts of the globe, including myself and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat.
Steamboat: We are not allowed to give out every thing that is planned for this great company. However, we can share this - the top eight draft picks for this company will be competing in a tournament for the title "Best In The World." For those of you keeping count at home, that includes myself and Jericho, as well as Sami Zayn, Nigel Mcguiness, Shelton Benjamin, James Storm, Rob Van Dam, and Low Ki.
Jericho: Also, for those keeping count at home, that's five references to the name "Best In The World." We're lucky, Phil Brooks doesn't have a trademark on it.
The reporters laugh at Jericho's comment.
Jericho: Also, we will also be crowning a Best Tag Team In The World, and, a couple of shows down the line, we will be borrowing an idea from the wrestling promotion CHIKARA that we are confident fans will embrace.
Steamboat: The bottom line, with all apologies to our competitors, is that if you are looking for the best wrestling in the world, we're confidant that our company is what you're looking for.
Moderator: Mr. Steamboat and Mr. Jericho will now take questions.
Reporter 1: Mr. Steamboat, who is actually in charge of this promotion?
Steamboat: Eric O'Mac is the owner and founder and he is handling a lot of the day to day operations. Chris and I are merely representatives of the company. In fact, I am unaware if he is planning on drafting or hiring an on-air General Manager or not. I believe that he is more focused on creating unique matchups for our wrestling fans and letting the wrestling and the competition of wrestling speak for itself.
Reporter 2: Chris Jericho, will Best In The World have championships? And how will the tournament be formatted?
Jericho: I believe that yes, we will have championships. Our "Best In The World" Tournament will be for the Best In The World Championship. As for the second part of your question, I'm not entirely sure how the tournament will be formatted. I've heard everything from having everyone be seeded according to where they were drafted to random match ups. Nothing is set in stone and all plans are subject to change.
Reporter 3: Outside of yourself, who are the competitors to keep an eye on in this promotion?
Steamboat: Sami Zayn. He's wrestled in 30 different countries around the world and is already a huge star without ever stepping foot in a WWE ring. We're very lucky to have in as a part of our promotion.
Jericho: Assuming that he doesn't bleed on anyone, it's probably Nigel McGuiness. Or Desmond Wolfe. Or whatever you want to call him. He should have been a bigger star, and in this company, he will be.
Reporter 4: Final question. Between the two of you, who's better?
Jericho and Steamboat kind of look at each other.
Jericho: Let's be honest, I was drafted first, I've held more World Championships, I even beat Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat at Wrestlemania 25. It's me.
Steamboat: You're right. Right now, it's you. You were drafted first for a reason, more championships. But don't let that broken down version of The Dragon that you beat be one of your reasons. I'm sure we'll find out soon enough, but when you face me, you'll be facing me in my prime. And, again, speaking honestly - there aren't many who were better than Ricky Steamboat in his prime. So, to answer your questions, I'll concede that Chris Jericho has rightful claim to be better than me right now. But I look forward to challenging that claim in the ring, where it matters.
Moderator: Thank you, ladies and gentlemen. We have another press conference scheduled towards the end of the week. Stay tuned to more news about Best In The World!
Jericho and Steamboat shake hands as the crowd applauds. Fade to black.
