Kerry Von Erich takes the mike
The Von Erich Family would like to apologize to the Calgary Police Department for the melee at the Stampede Wrestling Bragging Rights Card
We did not want to involve the fine men and women of the police but we could not abide by the disrespect show by the Hart family in stating that they were the premiere promotion run by a family. Fritz Von Erich ran WCCW for many years with his sons and as everyone know everything is bigger in Texas. For the Von Erichs to have to read press releases saying
"If you made it out of the dungeon you were part of an elite group. Dungeon graduates are tough skilled and possess the heart of a tiger. Stu Hart and his family have been turning out the best wrestlers in the world in their footsteps. The best teaching the best to be the best. At Bragging Rights with the help of WCCW we will see the best fight the best to finally see who are the greatest of all time."
That's just not right WCCW did not come to Calgary as an after thought to be filler for the card. Texas wrestling is the best wrestling there is. For years the Von Erichs and the Freebirds fought like rabid dogs against each other because we wanted to prove which team was the best in the world. We are not also rans we are not filler. We are the best. So on behalf of WCCW I am issuing a challenge. Stu Hart put your boys together once again and face us. The Best of WCCW against the Best of Stampede. We just wanted to get your attention last time now if you have the guts come fight us face to face. My brothers the Freebirds and the rest of WCCW are itching to shove those words of Stampede being the best of the best down your throat.
