There is no viable case for a Hanna Barbera "cartoon" produced in the 70's. It's the era of Scrappy Fucking Doo, Yogi's Ark, The Wacky Races and an assortment of other crap (Superfriends) made on the cheap.

If Hong Kong Phooey is not a Hanna Barbera cartoon, he is certainly a prime example of the shit foisted upon me in my youth. A vote for that is a vote for mediocrity. A vote for that will make Bruce Lee come out of hiding to wake up John Wayne that they may lay waste to the cultural wasteland that began with drek like Hong Kong Phooey.

d) Upon making my post I immediately went looking for a Hong Kong Phooey smilie (admittedly I was considering to alter it into a derogatory one). When Sir Gay asked for Batman and Thor I not only found them on a 1st google search but I had encountered them when looking for other smilies earlier. But HKP?

So lets be clear here. If you want an Ed, Edd, n Eddy smilie? I got you. If you want a Clay Aiken smilie? I got you. God knows what I could find if I went looking. But Hong Kong Phooey? I've now spent 10x the time and effort looking as I did for Batman and Thor and have come up with nothing.

Lilo and Stitch smilies are more readily available than Hong Kong Phooey ones. So yeah...

So yeah... your guys is so much cooler than our guys. Why don't you get Dev in here to argue how Hong Kong Phooey is a bigger icon than Batman and Superman.

To Courtney: Vote JLA - why? Because boytoy Michael Rossenbaum (AKA Lex Luthor in Smallville) voices the Flash.

To Tex: Aquaman was never let in to the cartoon version of the JL. He was on the show, but he never joined the team, even in the ginormous Justice League Unlimited team.

I dig HKP, I really do, but I'm voting JL because it was among the most riveting and best-written shows on television, animated or non. And for 5 seasons!

Every time I think of a non-sucky Hanna Barbera show, like Johnny Quest, or the first season of Scooby Doo, I check and find out that it was actually from the 60s. Yeah, the cartoons of the 70s were mostly crap.

Wacky Races was crap in the 70's on every level imaginable (seriously, at what did it excel at?) and that crapitude is only more evident today. If stating the truth makes me a commie, then just call me Karl Motherfucking Marx. TV is the opiate of the masses.

Look, I know that there were only 3 channels back then but come on. That show doesn't even rate near the top for cartoons of the era, let alone in a contest to decide the best one. That there are 8 votes for this drek saddens me, because it doesn't even have nostalgia value. A cheap attempt to capitalize on popular charaters that failed so spectacularly that they had to redo the concept at least 3 times, each more shitty than the last until the characters were essentially destroyed.
