All the arguments here are well-thought-out and reasonable. But I watched Showgirls in one sitting. It was physically and emotionally draining. Exhausting. I felt like the priest at the end of "The Exorcist", after he took the big tumble down the stairs. It took weeks to fully recover. And a part of me thinks I never really did fully recover. Maybe I didn't. Maybe a little part of me died that day. Just a little part, but it's dead now, and it ain't comin' back.
