I think Dev has my favorite roster of anybody. He's just got solid workers up and down the card. One of his few poor workers in Lacey Von Erich, he uses well here as a ring side second and curtain jerker.
I love how Dash is doing the alternate WWF thing. I don't know if I would have opened with a hell in the cell ppv, but that's a real strong main event and a solid world title match.
Solly's tag team names are hilarious and doing Sherri vs. Elizabeth with Macho Man as referee is absolutely brilliant, probably my favorite match of any in this first round just because of the back story.
I really like Dash's WWE gimmick, and I love his Shield group, but it doesn't necessarily make me want to see Velvet and Angelina try to work a HIAC match. Nakano/Moon, however, is fantastic.
Solly has one of the weaker cards for me, but that's just different tastes. Nia Jax, T2, Tamina, Sable and Sunny...all names I'm not super interested in watching try to wrestle. He did a great job with the pairings, though. No doubt about that.
I think Dev did the best job of leveling out his card. There are no steep drop offs between any of the matches, and the only real weak point is the opener. It's all uphill from that. I'm giving my vote to Dev this round.
I could go different ways on this one. Dev's card is unlikely to disappoint me, but I'm not sure there's a single match I have to watch.
By contrast, I like the animating themes of Solly and Dash more (outside of funny team names, I see Solly as trying to set someone up with an obvious pair, whether same era or later era), but I could imagine a given match really disappointing me - like Chyna v. Jax (though it may just be that I can't really picture either against another big competitor) or Grable vs. Sparx.
Weirdly, I think I really want to see Dash's crazy Lucha Underground take on HIAC with two women who are actually pretty good stunt actresses, even if not some great technical wrestlers. I went Dash for now, but am still pondering Dev and his fabulous tournament.
