Last season, we reduced playoff teams from 8 to 6 and awarded a bye to the teams finishing 1st and 2nd.

As someone who made a bunch of future-sacrificing moves thinking I was cementing a playoff spot at #7, this is not my favourite thing. I’d rather see top 8 in the playoffs.

Kinda liked the top 8, but seeing as I finish #9 every other year, it doesn't matter all that much.

I think the consolation bracket is easier with just 4, FWIW

I like 6 because more than half the league shouldn't make the playoffs and when 8 teams make the playoffs, there is even less trading than there normally is.

I like 6. No more than half the league gets in, and the top 2 teams get the reward of not having to sweat the first round.

This is my preference, as the regular season means something. And it does make the trade deadline a bit more active. We often see teams at roughly 6th, 7th, and 8th place sitting tight, not wanting to quit on a playoff spot, but also not wanting to move assets for an uphill playoff run. If we went to 8, I would like to see some sort of playoff bonus (which we already voted against the home-filed advantage) or higher Regular Season Payout.
