Since I've got New Avengers on my pull list, this book ended up in my bag this week:
It's obviously out of continuity, but it's still a helluva lot of fun. Without spoiling anything, the Decepticons want to take over Earth, while both the Avengers and the Autobots want to stop them. The first issue basically just introduces us to the heroes, and since they don't know each other, it leads to your classic good-guy throwdown before they get together to kick ass.
Anyway, the art's really nice, and the story's fun thus far. It's only a four-part mini, so I'd suggest picking it up.
As a side-note, the regular New Avengers book is the most fun comic I've read in, well, ever. Ninjas and snappy banter -- what more do you want?
actually, this book is in/out of continuity. like, obviously it's out of continuity because there's no transformers in the marvel universe, but they're writing it so that it takes place betweens volumes 1 and 2 of new avengers, and after the first IDW TF mini (escalation, i think it was called) but before the second. so, if you choose to believe that transformers and avengers do exist on the same plain, then that's where this takes place.
on the book itself, i thought it wasn't bad, but it's too early to see if it'll be any good. this is why i read shit in trade.
