Shazam's World? They're bringing back Earth-S? Fuckin'-A! One universe has never been big enough for both Superman and Marvel.

Though I don't see why Earth-S should have a GL Corp. . . . Bring back the Squadron of Justice!

earth-5, basically being earth-S, was one of the earths that they showed at the end of 52. along with the old earth-X (the old freedom fighters earth) i think being called earth-10.

I read up a little on this, and now I see why they have to have a GL Corp. Unlike the old multiverse, they all have the same ancient history and diverge more recently. (When exactly, I'm not so sure.) So if one universe had a Guardians of the Galaxy, they all have to. Although I don't see why their GL can't just be Abin Sur.

One difference from the old multiverse that I like? On the Freedom Fighters world, the bad guys are a Nazi Justice League! That should be sweet!

I don't think they all have to have the same history, because for instance, some of the earths are in the past or the future to the current DC Universe, even though the timeline is parallell, so a possible explanation to that would be life on earth forming a little earlier or a little later than new-earth. And one of the them is Wildstorm, and there's no GL Corps in that. The guy writing Arena says that one of the earths is "Vertigo...sort of", too. There might not even be a Corps in the Shazam universe. That GL could be using a version of the Starheart.

Milligan said it in an interview. But you're right, there's no way for that to fit with the Wildstorm universe. I don't think. Milligan must have been mistaken.

Though in the Batman/Planetary Crossover, the Wildstorm U did have a Gotham City and Dick Grayson was a cop there, I've read.

Huh. Maybe it's true that they all have the same ancient history, and some just diverged farther in the last . . . how long? Hundred years, maybe?

Well, the difference is that the old Multiverse was caused by some future tourists going back in time to see the forming of the universe, and they accidentally fuck it up and cause it to split, creating the infinite parallel worlds, so there were differences right from the start.
The new Multiverse was 52 identical universes, but Mr. Mind fed off a lot of them, and they now all have different timelines and details. So, the "same history up to a certain point" might just be how Milligan FIGURES it works.

Future Green Lantern guy sounds interesting. I'm guessing his future IS the Batman Beyond one, but varied a little to be more comic-universish, with Hal Jordan being GL rather than John or Kyle like in the DCAU.
