Oh jesus. This is going to be difficult. One of Scorsese's best works vs. one of my Top 10 all-time favorite movies. V is one of the best political movies ever, but...Scorsese is Scorsese.

V was good, but the book was better, and the changes they made were enough to bug me a little. The bit with all the people in the V masks was kind of dumb. Overall a good movie, but I am a HUGE fan of the comic, so it wasn't a "great" movie.
Meanwhile, GoodFellas is one of the all time best movies of any genre ever made. Good from start to finish.
(Quick side note: I've read Henry Hill's two autobiographies - te one they made into "GF", and one about his life after the mob. That guy is one serious and unrepentant piece of shit douchebag. I actually stopped reading the second one a little more than halfway through because I couldn't take this guy any more. So while the movie is phenomenal, the source material is a complete waste of oxygen I could be using.)

I haven't seen V, but I'd bet I'd like it. I hate Goodfella's for the same reason docX didn't like the books. All through it, I was rooting for someone to come along and shoot every single one of the protagonists in the face. Especially Pesci and Liotta.
