I've never seen or even heard of the Postman, but really, Superman wasn't all that bad.

I'll say the same as ProduceFucker on this one. Superman was ok. I'll be honest though all of your critisms do have an effect. I walked out of the movie very satisfied. While it was never my favorite comic movie I really did enjoy it. But after reading some of the critism I will admit that many of the plot holes I admit to being very real and now very noticeable. If it makes you feel any better you've changed my opinion on the movie slightly. I used to think it a 4 star movie and now its down to a 3.

I see that as a huge comic book bias. Can the two worst movies really be Comic Movies? Both of them entertained me on first viewing. They both have some action and pretty cool villains. That works for me.

Actually I only mention them as a Batman vs Superman battle. And because you've notably defended B&R over the years against a see of hate. I actually voted Glitter over B&R this round and there are a number of remaining films I'd pick over Superman.

They were horrible films. But I generally am much kinder on comic films than most comic fans are. I like Daredevil and am ok with The Hulk. And Fantastic Four pleased me well enough even as a diehard FF fan as a kid.

EDIT: That being said, comic films do have a natural edge when it comes to becoming notably bad films. They're naturally over the top subjects and hard to do stories. The mere costumes are almost impossible to do without looking stupid (or at least were prior to about 10 years ago). Most comic characters are over the top and cartoony. A stigma comes with them. And if you fail to capture the imagination of the masses you're playing to a large subculture of people prepared to rip you to shreds over the slightest changes or mistakes.

Is it any wonder why Hollywood routinely runs away from doing comic films even though there are thousands of untold stories that have already appealed to millions?

Superman was bad, silly and stupid. But Postman is and always be the most overdone piece of crap I've ever seen.
