Roseanne was one of the classics. I must've watched every episode at least 3 times in syndication.

The last season was some of the worst shit ever, but in its prime... Roseanne kicked all kinds of ass.

In it's prime I'll put Roseanne up against any family sitcom. John Goodman PWNED the screen.

Plus Becky was teh hawt.

Didn't they recast Becky at one point? I hated when they did things like that.

Yes, they did. And they used both actresses in the same season on alternating shows. It was awesome, because they totally broke the 4th wall when the Becky's went back and forth.

early on the show was really good, but as went on it seemed to focus more and more around Roseanne and started to annoy me

Did you ever see the episode where they switched back to the original Becky and at the end the 2 girls did a dance number to a song called "Identical Becky's"?

It wasn't just a dance number. It was the opening sequence from the Patty Duke Show. And it was fucking brilliant.

At the end of Sarah Chalke's first episode as the 2nd Becky the family watches Bewitched and complains about the recasting of Darren. Becky announces that she preferred the 2nd one.

Late in the series they just started randomly switching the two Becky's and making a gag about it, just because. One of the few good jokes from the end.

And it was revealed that DJ is eventually driven insane by the mystery of his sister.

Man, Roseanne was fucking brilliant. Until she lost her damn mind and it became the worst show in TV history.

And Moose, I don't think they started focusing too heavy on Rosie till very late. Once Becky/Mark really ran their course as a story and Darlene/David proved to be not nearly as interesting. And once Jackie settled down with her kid. But they kept Dan's family involved and Crystal married his dad. And they gave some HEAVY focus to Darlene including her pregnancy and the premature birth of her child. It was just there towards the end when the show became "Roseanne's crazy fantasy world because Dan secretly died and she's gone insane with grief."
