I wasn't even a WCW fan back in the day, but I have to vote for Sting. Even pre-Internet, a WWF fan knew Sting, and he knew Flair. Once I started watching WCW (nWo era), I really liked Sting.

I never cared for Owen. Didn't like the New Hart Foundation, didn't like the Blazer.

I dunno, Sting never did much for me. Even as The Crow, I was still pretty meh. At least Owen dressed up as a road sign. That went a long way with me.

Geez, this is hard. Up until the age of 10, Sting was my FAVORITE wrestler. Period. End of story. But after the initial crow stuff, he was kind of...I dunno...just blah. Whereas from the beginning to the horrible end, Owen always entertained me. He was great as a face and a heel, especially the latter.

What a shitty draw for both guys. But Owen coming out on top is just lame. Sting is a fucking icon. Owen was a above average wrestler who spent the overwhelming majority of his career in ridiculous gimmicks and who had a tragic death that took him from the business right when the business was beginning to truly appreciate guys like him. Sting is an icon.

Seriously. Sting dropped from the rafters hundreds of times and always managed to fasten his seat belt. So Sting may be the dumbest man in wrestling, but only because Owen was so dumb it took him out of wrestling.

Fuck Sting. Owen was so awesome. I cried when I saw the squiggly lines on the PPV and heard what happened. Than I started drinking.......Haven't stop much since.

It's basically to the point where we can start voiding Creepy's votes right? I mean, I know we have some major idiots around here and I won't even exclude myself from that in some instances...but I'm pretty sure that with regards to dumbest man (barely) alive Creepy >>>>> Sting.

People can say Dusty Rhodes or Ricky Steamboat or Terry Funk or whatever, but I truly don't think Flair becomes such a cultural icon in the wrestling business if not for Sting. He did some great great stuff before Sting, but Sting gave him the national spotlight. And if not for Sting actually being a good soldier and team player for WCW, he'd be in the upper echelon with regards to title reigns but he was ALWAYS okay with Flair or Hogan or whoever the new flavor was getting belts. I'll admit that The Crow angle went TOOOOOOOOOOOO long, but the build was tremendous and if not for such a delay for the payoff and then Hogan being Hogan, it'd be looked at a lot fonder.

Seriously, man. Did Dusty get more votes than Sting? What the fuck?! Sting was THE face of NWA and WCW for a decade. He helped raise Flair even higher than Dusty did. He made Luger interesting. Do people not remember how fucking awesome the Crow stuff was? WCW turning on Sting and destroying him? Sting proving his loyalty and walking away in disgust? That shit shook WCW. And then him showing up at Clash of the Champions in the rafters with that fucking vulture? I found a videotape, stuck it in the VCR to record the replay, and watched that dozens of times. And then dropping from the rafters when it was new and shocking and before someone started doing it for no good reason, fucked up, and ruined it for everyone?

This makes me sad. I love Owen but he is what he is. A good midcard wrestler who never got the chance to do better.

This can not be happening, can it? Is Sting, one of the true legit franchise wrestlers EVER going to lose to a glorified midcarder who's looked back at fondly because he can't tie a fucking knot? I can't see any justification for this vote...in every incantation of characters they played Sting > Hart. Surfer Sting > Owen Hart, Wolfpack Sting > Blue Blazer, Crow Sting > Nugget Hart.
