Tough choice but I'm going with HHH. Classic matches against Austin, Rocky, Foley and a much better than expected Mania loss to Taker > classics with Bret, Razor, etc.

No. Shawn Michaels is the guy that brings out the best in his opponents. We hear a promising rookie has a big match scheduled with HBK and we think "wow, that could be the match of his career. It could be an instant classic that makes this kid."

No-one thinks that about Hunter. If HHH has had some great matches, a lot of that is because he has been lucky enough to feud with some guys who really knew how to bring out the best in him.

I really can't disagree with that... like I said, it was a tough choice and I'll be happy with whoever moves on to the Final Four.

Triple H is Ric Flair of this generation. He had one strecth of bad matches with Steiner, Nash, Goldberg (and really who can have good matches with them even with two healthy quads). The McMahon-Helmsley era of the WWF was my favorite period of watching wrestling. I was proud to be a fan. During this time I turned all my friends into fans and turned my wife into a fan. Now they all have stopped watching and I can't blame them.

Michaels is great but between XII and DX I hated him. He was Austin before I hated Austin. Every Raw and every match ended with a Superkick and a win. Never a change. And that has proven to be my kryptonite. Hogan, Michaels, Austin, Cena. There were stretches when all of them became Superman and I lost interest in wrestling.

From a personal standpoint, I like HHH better. But Michaels is the better wrestler - not by much - and that's how I'm gonna vote on this one.

Michaels was more consistently awesome than HHH, but I'd say that even though HHH had lower dips (I really was bored to tears by him his first two years in WWF, and of course he sucked for most of 2002-2003), his peaks more than make up for it. So HHH gets the slight edge for me here.

I don't even know if HBK is the better "wrestler." He may be more technically sound and have a bit more aeriel offense, but HHH is probably the best main-event brawler I've seen and brings the most psychology to his matches. For a long time HHH matches didn't have a set routine and I was always wondering what was next. HBK matches always went the same way...gets beat down, makes comback #1 including the kip-up, goes for one move too many, beat down again, avoids a finisher, tunes up the band, misses, wham bam sweet chin music. Just became really repitive, which is something I don't think HHH had when he was at the top of his game. He could put on different matches with Austin, Rock, Foley and then later HBK, Benoit, and Jericho. HBK's matches always seemed the same, no matter if he was in there with Bret or Nash.

I'm still holding it against HHH that I watched an Alex Wright vs Jean Paul Levesque feud in WCW. I don't care if that's fair. I also watched a Hunter Hearst Helmesley vs Henry O. Godwinn feud.

Really, Dev? HBK is much better at carrying people (as others have mentioned than HHH has ever been. That automatically puts him ahead in the wrestling category.

However, I don't see how you could possibly think his matches seem the same. If you go back to the Summer of '96 and watch his matches against Bulldog, Vader and Mankind, you'll see that Michaels always has (and still does) wrestle differently according to his opponent. I think he has a much better grasp of psychology than Hunter and that's saying something as HHH is one of the best at that. It's just that Hunter never seems to change his style up based on his opponent like HBK does.

I voted HBK because as much as I love HHH, even when he was hogging the belt, HBK just barely edges him out. Maybe because I'm a mark for his style or I wasn't around for the DX thing and didn't get bored of him like I did when HHH was ruling Raw in 03. It's more of a "who do I hate least for what they've done to one of my favorites" HBK gave Booeker a super kick, HHH beat him at Wrestlemania. HBK gave Rock a Super Kick, HHH helped Austin retain the title. That sort of thing. Here's hoping HBK does the job for Flair in the final.
