thing've have been pretty slow, reveal-wise, for a while now. while the book's been enjoyable, it hasn't really done much for this game really. and that continues. all we really got is a confirmation, so i'm putting up the post.

i would actually say spider-woman was confirmed in the sentry issue of mighty avengers, but since i didn't get to post, crediting it to SI #3 still works just as well. so spider-woman is in fact queen of the skrulls. and she does a pretty good job convincing iron man that he himself is a skrull but was brainwashed to not know it. i don't think there's enough evidence to call this an unconfirmed reveal, as i think queen spider-skrull is just fucking with tony.

the standings are still:

*mockingbird, a character who's been dead for 10 years (real world time) was one of the heroes to come off the skrull ship at the end of SI#1. in SI#2, clint barton (hawkeye/ronin) used an "only-the-real-mockingbird-would-know-this" test to confirm that this is the real deal and the one that died all that time ago was a skrull. of course, this doesn't rule out that clint (and mockingbird) could possibly be a skrull and they planned this little ruse to gain the hero's confidence. the asterisk will remain until this is confirmed or denied.

Just wondering, have there been any humans who are willingly working for the Skrulls revealed? It's not an angle I've seen in the main mini so far, but what about tie-ins?

No that I've seen, Stu, but I'm by no means reading every tie-in. The only thing I've seen like that was some hippies welcoming the Skrulls. I think it was in Frontline, but it might've been New Avengers.

Yeah, there's some civilians in the main mini who are supporting "change" like in World War Hulk, but I mean a proper Skrull sympathiser in a position to do some damage, because that seems like the sort of thing that's stupid to overlook. The heroes are basing their trust on whether someone is human or not. If Skrulls can defect (eg John, Hulkling, Captain Marvel), why can't humans?
BTW, I read that one of the tie-ins explained how the Skrulls were avoiding being detected. Anyone fill me in?

Has anyone else wondered why this storyline is being done relatively so soon after they already did a very similar Skrull Secret Invasion storyline in the first volume of The Ultimates? Although that didn't have any heroes replaced by Skrulls.

having not read deadpool #3, i would say the rest of the main secret invasion mini have established that skrulls die fairly easily.

Well in that, it turns out Nick Fury sent Wade to infiltrate the Skrulls to obtain data on how to kill a Skrull Queen, but when Wade tried to send it to him, it didn't work, because Norman Osborn secretly intercepted the transmission.

She's definitely dead. And the arrow did go through her face, but there's no way it missed the brain.
