I bought a 2 GB MP3 player for $20. I figured I've wasted more on less. Reviews said shitty battery life but I don't see a problem after playing it for hours working in the yard. And only 2 GB doesn't strike me as a big deal since I don't see a lot of need for videos. Only hassle is cutting my 26 GB music collection down to 2.

Well, and the fact that my computer won't read the damn thing. Running OSX 10.4 I got nothing. Its supposed to mount as a volume and then I just drag and drop files, but no dice. Thing is, when I have Parallels open and Windows running Windows recognizes the player. But it doesn't mount it either because I haven't managed to get Windows to mount any USB peripherals yet. It does mount no problem on my laptop, so eventually I'm going to go through the hassle of picking out 2 GB (give or take) of music, copying it onto a flash drive or something, and then transporting it over to the laptop where I'll then sync it up using WindowsMediaPlayer.

But I'd really like to just drag and drop it off my Mac. I don't suppose anyone has one of these things and a Mac and has a quick fix for me?

The FM tuner works great and I've been using it for that to test out the battery life. I'd be happy with just that for $20 as I haven't had a music player for public transportation rides or whatever in a long time. And I will eventually go through the hassle of moving the music files over and getting the MP3 player happening. It also has video capability, pictures, and ebooks but I haven't tried any of those. Also a voice recorder, a recorder off the tuner, and a Japanese Radio Band, even if I can't get anything on it. So if you're like me and cheap as shit? Its the size of an iPod Nano and connects easily to Windows at least. Well, I was going to link you to the Amazon page but its no longer on sale and not it costs $40.

I bet the battery dies on me in 6 months, but for $20, who cares?

seriously though, how do you like running Parallels on your mac? I've thought about putting that or Boot Camp in mine, but can't think of many reasons to put Windows on my computer except for watching Netflix movies instantanously.

Parralells works pretty well but I actually like and use VMWare Fusion a bit better. It seems to run faster and supports more OS's.

But if you wanna just run Windows without Boot Camp Parralles works really well.

Parallels works fine for me. I've actually only had it a few weeks and just got it to run a few programs with no Mac counterparts. Only problems are that to this point I (a) can't manage to get it in full screen and (b) can't connect my USB peripherals. I'm 100% positive I can do the latter and I presume I can do the first, I just haven't really tried. Neither is important to me so I haven't felt the need to sole the problems. I will in time, I'm sure, but for now I'm using all the programs I want fine and it runs well and I like to keep it in half size in the corner while I run applications in OSX. And running the two OSs at the same time hasn't slowed either down to a terribly noticeable degree (aside from when Windows is loading).

And I am a cheap bastard. I freely admit it. But for $20 I got an MP3 player and FM Tuner that suits my needs but isn't as intuitive. Which I don't care about because I can read a manual and futz around a little. I'm good.
