after last weeks kick ass Impact! they can only stay the same or go down. I hope it's the former as that was by far the best non-PPV show I've seen in a LONG time.

I feel asleep before 9 last night and watched it as best as I could on a Friday when I was wiped and the heat was kicking my ass. Seemed like a pretty meh show. Not bad or anything, but nothing to remember. Probably a little bit of a letdown from last week, probably a little bit of my mood, and probably a decent amount of truth.

Jobbing to people who matter is exactly the role BG should have if he needs to have any. But then again opening the show with BG James vs Booker T is just about the perfect tone setter for this show. Not offensive but not something you'd give a crap to watch.

MCMG match picked up in the 2nd half. I can't say I really care for Dux and Daivari never did a ton for me. Presumably we should get Team Japan vs Team Mexico in a tag match next week. If its not Speed Muscle vs Los Guerreros del Infierno I'm going to be very disappointed.

I'm thinking Kong's victim Taylor was Shantelle Taylor who recently signed. Looked a bit like her although she looked bigger than I remembered. The other girl was Temptress Kimberly I'm pretty sure, who apparently is with TNA but I never saw on TV before this show. Another fun match with Kong getting a real fight this time. Story progressing very logically and since Taylor has a contract with TNA I presume she'll have "impressed Cornette" enough to become a Knockout.


Salinas has her own theme music. That's odd. Jackie vs Salinas might be the last Knockout match I want to see, but I guess it was a solid enough way to advance the story.

It amuses me for AJ to attack Trigg thinking he's Angle... and for me to not even realize its Trigg even after AJ has. I dug him hitting D-Von with the Pele while he was setting up 3D with the sign of the cross.

I'm glad to see Lethal kind of ditch the Macho Man thing but I still don't care about the feud.

Otherwise, like I said. Ok show that I don't have anything to complain about, but meh.


Pretty sure the X Cup goes like this incase you missed it:
Round 1: 2 Tag matches worth 1 pt each; MCMG (TNA) def Daivari/Dux (Int), Mexico vs Japan
Round 2: 2(?) singles matches worth 2 pts each
Round 3: 12 man Elimination match worth 3 pts max (I think the winner gets 3 and they hand out some points to the runners up)
Round 4: Ultimate X for 4 Pts; 1 man from each team (in year's past they've tossed the lowest point scorer, who was always Japan)

So presumably we get the 2nd tag match next week, the 2 singles matches the week after, Gauntlet the Thursday before Victory Road, and then Ultimate X at Victory Road. Of note, Japan came in last in both '04 and '06 and TNA won both. Sabin won the Final match both years, the first year doing a story where the Team Captains all competed in the Ultimate X final except for TNA Cap Jerry Lynn who selected Sabin due to his experience in the match. So could be a story they repeat. Of course given recent history its probably more likely that Kaz wins it and then loses in some title match the next Thursday.
