Yes, it will be 100% compatible with RB1. If you get the full RB2 set, you can play the RB1 dics and DLC with it, and if you get the RB2 game only, you'll have full functionality with RB1 instruments.

From what I've heard, they're making the instruments for RB2 quieter and more sturdy. Other than that, they're pretty much the same.

I saw a blurb on G4 last night that Guitar Hero World Tour will be compatible with the XBox 360 Rock Band gear. No announcements on the Wii and PS3 versions, though. I'm glad I'll be able to get both versions without having to buy the instruments.

Oh...FF...Shackler's Revenge is supposed to be one of the tracks off of Chinese Democracy.

Yeah, that's good. There's no other songs by Guns 'n' Roses that people would rather have or perhaps be more familiar with that would be a better fit on here.

I'd also like to know what the problem with RB2 is. AC/DC, The Beatles, The Pixies, The Who, RHCP, and Motley Crue and others are better, imo, than Oasis, Aerosmith, Metallica's new one and a few Jimi songs (sniff) Just curious, Punker.

Actually I posted that opinion after barely playing the game, and I forgot to come on here and rescind it. I wasn't used to the "World Tour mode only" set-up, but after playing it for a little while, I ended up liking it a lot.

Glad to hear that, punk. I loved it immediately, and was wondering what it was that you disliked so much. I'm still loving it.

One of the best features that they've introduced is the ability to play all songs by on band in a row in Quickplay mode. That means that if you download an entire album, you have the ability to play it front-to-back without bouncing around in various menus.

In case you didn't know, Pearl Jam's Ten will be released for Rock Band next month to coincide with the re-issue of the album.
