The sad thing is I really like PE. It's just they came up against a team that arguably, was as hot if not hotter then anything in the late '90's for a couple years.

That, and were part of some of the BIGGEST moments in modern wrestling history.

Yeah, when I nominated the Outsiders, I didn't mean to include Hulk. Screw him. I meant, Hall and Nash, who are some of the funniest guys ever. Nash on purpose, Hall not so much.

And I love PE too, but like ^^^ he said, they came up against the wrong team.

yeah its kind of sad, PE were not great wrestlers or anything, but they were far better in the ring than the Outsiders. But popularity tends to carry in these things.

And exactly HOW MANY historical-type career defining matches did Public Enemy have?

I can probably name 5 matches considered in the "good to great" range involivng Scott Hall, unfortuently, as someone who only watched WWE growing up, none of them were in WCW, which is where the Showdown "matters".

But it's still a lot more than P.E. They were far from great in the ring, but they got a hell of a reaction and put on a good show. Nash, when motivated, ahd some good in-ring encoutners too. Although, again, none come to mind in WCW...

PE OWNED ECW for awhile there. But you might be able to say that about Hall and the nWo in WCW too, so that is fine. I still think Hall has been overrated for his entire career. I had no delusions of PE winning this, but I think they should have had a better showing.

No big deal though.

i think what hurts PE is their entire WCW run, where they were pretty much clowns. Yeah, they had the tables, but they also had the fucking "wave your hands in the air" shit that they do in their matches ad nauseum.

PE was great in ECW, but man, WCW PE made me almost forget how good they were. That and Buh Buh and D-Von pretty much took their place and then some.


And yeah, Hall and Nash (with Hogan) OWNED WCW.

If it wasn't for them, Harlem Heat would've been 20x tag team champions.

Like I said, I am not going to let these showdowns get to me, I have never liked Hall, and always thought he benefited more from who he associated with than anything he ever did in the ring. I knew the Outsiders would win this one easily, and will probably move pretty deep into this because the majority of the people on this board really cut their wrestling teeth during the whole nWo period, so it is what it is.
