I'd also argue that historically, the Steiners are more significant to Tag Team wrestling then Edge & Christian. I'm not taking away anything from E&C - but I think the fact that they had their heyday later then the Steiner's is sadly looking like the better team is losing...

Eh, I consider myself a fan of old and new and I was happy to support the Steiners. But I think your evaluation may in fact be the opposite problem. People regard older teams as more important purely because they were older. Being first becomes the most important trait when its actually 100% out of the wrestlers' control and really shouldn't matter much at all. If it did we should just limit the thing to all teams that existed before 1996.

Steiners were awesome and historic and fully deserving of a top 8 spot and maybe higher. Edge and Christian were arguably the greatest team of the last 15 years. They were performers who could be serious when need be and started to make a name for themselves as silent vampires and then showed a ton of comedy chops and character. So much so that people would wear a horrific t-shirt of them posing for 5 seconds. They also were 1/3rd of the key component to the historic TLC series, giving WWF a tag division people cared about and helping make the Hardyz a team that showed up in this and cementing the place of the Dudleyz in the eyes of fans who may not have watched ECW.

I don't really object to someone voting Steiners over E&C but for me E&C were the best tag team in a long time, one of the best mixes of wrestler and sports entertainer we had. And I'm not even a big fan of them. I was a WCW fan. But they were one of the key reasons I enjoyed WWF. And the simple fact that the Steiners came first isn't enough to beat out the fact that I enjoyed E&C more.

Second toughest draw of the tournament for me behind only Arn/Tully vs. the Midnights.

I voted E&C.

For just under two years, they were the best tag team in the world. They could talk, they could be chickenshits, they could be smarmy heels, and they could work their asses off. Of the great trifecta of WWF teams at the time, the Duds were the brawling tough guys, the Hardy boys were the pretty boy high spot guys, but without E&C, there's no glue to hold them together. They all made each other stars, but E&C just had that extra "it" to them and carried the tag team renaissance of 2000. Hell, E&C made Too Cool legit threats at one point.
