I have an irritation towards our #12 Diablo 2. My boyfriend spends hours upon hours (which could be spent with me) playing that game. So how do I repay him? I play our lovely #5 Metal Gear Solid 3.

As well as being having the best gameplay of the first 3 Solid Games, with the awesome survival and CQC aspects brought in, really great boss battles, and a great Cold War storyline, Snake Eater also has The Best Intro Sequence Evar.

Never into Diablo. Loved MGS 1 and 2, but didn't play 3. But everyone says 3 is as good as if not better than the first two, so I'm voting that way.

Diablo ][ is a great game due to the following reasons...

1. Open-ended play that has unlimited replayability factor (10 years later people are still playing the game)

2. Zelda-type action RPG that sucks you in and makes you want to play every waking second of every day

3. One of the first massively online playable games - FREE.

4. Just as fun to play with others as it is by yourself. The game also would unlock different quests if you were in a multiplayer game.

5. Areas and dungeuons were randomized meaning you could play the game 20 times and never know where stuff was.

Fucking Metal Gear.

The MGS gameplay is very underrated. It's full of detail and lots of options to handle different things, and some fun bonuses/easter eggs. Snake Eater enhanced the stealth tremendously by including the camouflage aspect, where location, movement, and what your wearing affect your visibility and make the game a lot more tense and atmospheric. The game puts realistic injuries on you that you need to treat specifically, making it important you stock up on various medicines, plants and such throughout. You also hunt your own food, and different game has different effects on you. The boss battles have loads of little special tactics, and are all memorable in their own right

-Young Ocelot is a duel with you and him being on either side of a chasm. He has a six shooter, but is deadly accurate and can ricochet bullets around your cover. You can shoot down beehives on him, make him angry and careless by shooting his hat off, step out and do some tricks with your own revolver you get by completing the game, which has him come out to try to outdo you etc.
-The Pain is a big soldier who sics swarms of hornets on you, and you need to avoid their stings and get around them being his shields
-The Fear is a guy who can go invisible, like the Predator, and jumps from tree to tree, in a trap filled area, and you start the fight with him having shot a poisoned arrow into your leg. If you choose to try to wear his stamina down for a non-lethal kill, he'll try and catch food to build it back up, and a clever trick you can do is throw a rotten food for him to get and throw up from, reducing his stamina even more.
-The End is an old sniper guy you have an epic encounter with, in a true test of your stealth across a battlefield that spans 3 seperate areas. What's REALLY fucking innovative about this guy is you can skip fighting him altogether 2 ways. Either, in an earlier area of the game where he's leaving in the distance, you can use the few seconds available to snipe him and kill him then and there, and you won't have to deal with him later. Secondly, when you start the fight with him, save the game, and wait a week/advance the console clock that long, and when you start up again, the End (who's over a hundred) has DIED OF OLD AGE! Fuckin' Genius!
-The Fury. A flamethrower wielding maniac you fight in an underground bunker he can pin you into with the fire.
-Volgin-Ivan Drago, with lightning powers
-Motorcycle through the base being chased by a massive nuclear equipped supertank, and all the soldiers (later through a jungle)
-Fighting the massive supertank from the bike, then on foot
-Fighting Snake's Psuedo-mother figure former mentor in a FLOWER FIELD!
