Both are kickass games, but I think I have to give the nod to Zelda for me liking it more then Ms. PacMan.

Two totally different types of games (fast pickup versus long serialized gameplay) but replayability and the story gives the nod to Zelda...

I think I remember that the box was split in half with the Mario cereal on one side and the Zelda on the other. Which inevitably meant which ever you preferred you got cheaped out on. It was like that candy that splits their package. Nerds?

Really, it was a bad idea.

I did like the Zelda cartoon though. And it crossed over with Captain N with Link and the Cap having a rivalry because Cap was hot for Zelda (which made the Princess he hung out with jealous).

I liked those cartoons.

The thing that always bugged me about Captain N was Mega Man's three-pack-a-day voice.

At the beginning, the kid is playing PUNCHOUT and wearing a Varsity Jacket. Clearly, he's one of the cool kids, and probably got to third base with some ho. Then the Zelda losers get a hold of him and all of a sudden he's a friendless homo virgin.

I demand a recount.

Dude, his letter jacket is a Nintendo one. He's a slacker loser who has no purpose in life except to play video games.

That being said, he's totally the video game nerd's idealized idea of what they can be. He is the written empowerment. Cool, handsome, his video game skills somehow translating into being a real life super hero, and ALL the women wanted him. I mean, even Samus was after him in that cartoon. I believe the term the internet likes for that type of character is "Mary Sue."

Really, the whole cartoon was a bunch of nerds fantasizing about a real life video game and hooking up with every hot chick in a video game.



Besides, Captain N came out when I was 9. Zelda came out when I was 7. Punch-Out when I was 7. Damn it, I know you were on your way to banging 5000 women so maybe you were at it early but I'm tired of you making me feel bad for not getting some at the age of 7! You're mean and quite depraved!

I was only 12 when Punchout and Zelda came out. I WAS 14 when Captain N came out, however. Shit was on, then.
