I had a friend who is watching the AWA shows and came across a guy called "Rocky Mountain Thunder" who appeared on some shows in 1989. I have not watched AWA myself, but my buddy is convinced that this Thunder dude is a young Big Show. I couldn't get an answer at Online World of Wrestling, so maybe I can get an answer here

Show's first every pro match is constantly referenced as his title match at Halloween Havoc vs Hogan. So it seems unlikely he was active in AWA 6 or 7 years earlier.

Thanks to the internet we can get a look at Rocky Mountain Thunder and I have no clue what your friend sees in a resemblance.



Some searching around the web says Rocky MIGHT have been Greg Boyd, a former NFLer. But that seems to be debated.

But there's no way that's Paul Wight.

Not to mention a young Big Show was WCW's The Giant in the late 90s. He was only in his 20s. Paul Wight was probably only 12 years old when AWA folded.

He was probably as big as Rocky Mountain Thunder by then too.
