I saw the the article about this on Joystiq yesterday... $40 bucks? This will be a day one purchase for me, no doubt about that. It makes me want to hook my Genesis up to my TV right now.

The only thing missing? Toe Jam & Earl. I'm really hoping the two TJ&E games are included as part of that "unlockables" thing they mention.

Doesn't matter what you heard. They have all three Golden Axes, all three Streets of Rages, and both Ecco The Dolphins. Give me Shinobi 3 AND Revenge of Shinobi. They were both the bee's knees.

Could there maybe be a trademark thing with Revenge? I remember fighting bosses in that that were clearly based on Spider-man Terminator and Godzilla, and according to wikipedia, there was one based on Batman too (changed for the UK edition to a bat-like man).

I knew you'd be stoked about the Shinobi thing. And the Phantasy Star thing was funny, because as I was scrolling through all the games, I noticed they only had II-IV, and I thought it was dumb until I remembered that the first one was on the Master System... then I look through the list of unlockables list, where it tells you what random thing you have to do to access all the stuff, and there it was. Awesome of them to include it.

It's cool too-- each game has a menu where you can view the plot, random facts about the game (the funniest of which is for Phantasy Star IV, which says something to the effect of "This game was almost $100 when it first released, and we included it in this collection. You're welcome.") and view a little bit of artwork.

Strider on Mame is awesome. For consoles it is included on the first Capcom classics disc as well.
