I read a thing on how watch sales have plummeted since the cellphone boom. It occurred to me that I haven't worn one since I got a cell. Anyone still wearing one?

I wear one to work, but if I am sitting around the house I rarely do.
What is this "cell phone" you speak of?
The Phillies are everything I hoped the Mets would be - a team that plays their fucking asses off for all 27 outs. They're never out of a game. Solly 10/20/09

Haven't since I got my first cell phone. That was like 2001.
Or don't do either. If you can't find an image you like at either than don't force it. Just give me something you like and which will look good on the board.
i have to wear a watch, cos I set the alarm to make sure I don't go over in my classes. i had profs that didn't seem to care about pesky things like 'time' so i set it to beep when it's time for me to stop.

You know you can set several alarms on most cellphones these days, right? I've got a weekday alarm to wake me up, another alarm to tell me that it's lunch time (otherwise, I'd work right through the damn thing), and a third weekly alarm to call my grandmother. :-)
So you could easily set multiple alarms to go off on MWF and other alarms to go off at the end of your TTh classes. It could easily be done with a cellphone.

I have to wear a watch. Like Lucky, it's a ingrained thing, and I feel weird without it, even though I'm surrounded by computers, servers and numerous other things that will tell me time.
I go so far as to look at my wrist even when I'm not wearing a watch, it's that ingrained.
It would amuse me if next year Byrne did a women's fed or Texas fed. I'd just like to see how he tries to make it a dark, demonic, ECW homage led by James Mitchell or Raven. -- Lucky, 2009

I used to not be able to stand having a watch on. But when I went to Europe I wore one because I didn't bring my cell phone and wanted to make sure I got to places on time. I kept it on because I got used to it and then synchronized it to my school's bell system so that I could work the class until the last second, if needed. Now I'm so used to it that I glance at it even though the cable box in front of me has the time on it.
I wear a sports watch because it's just more convenient. My dad actually gave me a decent gold-colored watch for Xmas but I hate it. I'm thinking about sending it in the mail to Cash4Gold so I can take the vacation of a lifetime!
Actually if I stop to think about it its amazing how much a comfort the watch is. Truth is, I don't trust it for the time. The battery on my sports watch is old and the clock seems to constantly change how much its off from the more reliable clocks. So when I REALLY need to know time I tend to look at my cell, my computer, the cable box, the Wii, or whatever. Something that gets updates from someone else. I do look at the watch for a more casual keeping of time but I don't rely on it for important stuff.
Still, I need to wear it and can't get comfortable without it.

This is very true. However, I'm not sure if I can keep my volume for my ringer off, and the volume on the alarm on. I do sometimes get calls from the PD asking if I can work, or from the spouse to see "what I'm doing."
And trust me, there is NOTHING more fun that having your phone ring after you have been very Stern and Mean about no cellphones ringing in class.
Plus it's got a timer on it, and chronograph, and other fun things. I don't have to carry it while running/exercising. And since I seldom if ever take it off, it's water proof, which is a good thing.

Yeah. But you are the dictator of your class. Your word is law.
Students don't like it? Screw 'em.

(I added some stuff after I posted).
I agree totally. Now if you can convince them

I like watches and have some, but hardly wear them. I only wear them if I feel like accessorizing, i.e. wearing a nice watch with a suit, or wearing a rockin' watch with stage wear. Otherwise, I rely on my cell phone.
I'm with Boner on this one, at least how he used to be.. I've always hated the feel of watches, bracelets, jewelry. I have my wedding ring and that's it. I gotta be free.
I got a gold watch when I graduated HS and never wore it. Kinda felt like a dick about it, but I never asked for the fucking thing.
Is it so hard to imagine? Is it so hard to believe? Something so outrageous, something so far-fetched, well how 'bout Adam and Eve?
