Just got my first new watch in 8 years for graduation. And I'm one of those "weirdos" who wears his on the inside of his wrist. But there's a reason for this.
When I was in middle school, I had one of those "cool" Casio digital watches that allowed you to put a scrolling message at the top of the display. So being the lazy fuck I was, I entered a lot of answers to tests in the display. Wearing the watch on the inside allowed me to look inconspicuous whilst cheating my way through 7th grade.
I remember as a kid I really wanted a watch, but of course it was one of those luxuries we couldn't afford, like new shoes or a blanket not made for a toddler.
I'm pretty sure I got my first watch from my best friend at the time. Just a simple little digital display, but I thought it was cool.
Fast forward a few years, I'm in the Navy, I have a disposable income, so I buy a watch. Wore it for maybe three months and suddenly hated the feel of having something on my wrist.
This was about 2001 or so and also when I got my first cell phone - mainly to keep in touch with the family back in home so I wouldn't have to wait in line to use the pay phones in our BEQs - and haven't had need for a watch since.
I'm not much of an accessories guy. No pinky rings, earrings, chains, or necklaces. I remember really wanting those sort of things as a kid, but as I got older I stopped caring.
I wear it on the inside of my wrist. When I was a kid I didn't and my father and all my relatives did and I always thought THEY were strange. Then I started playing sports and I realized why they all turned it inside out. You get up for a pickup game of basketball and the first time you fight for a rebound to cut someone or stab them in the eye with your watch. Immediately I realized a good reason why my sports watch should be turned wrist in. And over time it just stuck.
Or don't do either. If you can't find an image you like at either than don't force it. Just give me something you like and which will look good on the board.

I used to wear a digital watch in High School and College. When I got my cellphone I did stop wearing those. I do wear a nice Mickey Mouse Standard watch now. It looks good with my work attire and I don't have to pull out my cell from my belt to find the time. Sometimes I'll wear that watch during the weekends but not all the time.
