In an effort to mold themselves into a more kid friendly environment, John Cener's finishing move name will be changed from the "FU" into the "Throwback." This name change will obviously mark the beginning of Crisis on Infinite Earths for now there are two moves named "Throwback." Just passing along the word, that the universe will start collapsing on itself soon.

Well, I'm no Cena connoisseur, but according to wikipedia, the Throwback is his "running neck snap to a standing opponent". I think that's being renamed, and the STFU is getting a rename as well. "The Holdback". I have to hand it to Cena, he does have an innovative offense...

According to Good Ol JR, the STFU is not the plain ol STF. He doesn't mention the Throwback thing.

It's double weird since his horrid neck snap move used to be called The Throwback

I have no problem with name changes of moves. as long as it goes with the character at the moment. Case in point when Rock went Corporate. The People's Elbow became The Corporate Elbow. Simple easy. In Poopy's case, the FU was a direct shot across the bow to Brock Lesnar when they were a-feudin and a-fightin. What does irk me, is that after all this time with the name "FU" being accepted by the viewing audience, why change it now all of a sudden? "WWE: Kid tested, Mother Approved."

If they keep going this direction soon they'll have to scrub the violence too and all things will be solved with main event hand shakes and debates. Debated with clean language only.

I genuinely don't see the issue. Having your most marketable wrestler who you love to promote to kids have his top two signatures the "FU" and "STFU" were glaring issues. WWE makes a ton off kids and this is the direction they've chosen. So they addressed an issue. Honestly, its a lot more forethought than I expect from WWE normally.

And "Throwback" certainly fits his merchandise theme at the very least as well as the VERY general tone of the character that was more evident back when he was wearing throwback jerseys. And I had no idea he called some mid match move the Throwback and I doubt JR did so no real change there.

Plus the FU was a mockery of Brock Lesnar and it seemed a little silly as Brock's farther and farther away from wrestling and quite frankly, above wrestling now. Not that that couldn't be forgotten, but its a part of it I imagine. Possibly.

Yeah, supposedly they're pulling all that stuff and taking away signs. JR blogged about the change in attitude and how fans had to respect it if they wanted to be part of the show. And I believe he indirectly referenced that stuff like "Ruck Fules" was gone or on its way out. There was some "big" story a few weeks ago about a guy who got kicked out of a WWE event for cursing at a wrestler or something. They asked him to cut it out, he didn't, so he got tossed. Ultimately its WWE's right to try and be more family friendly and its nothing new in wrestling. The Cena stuff sort of flew in stark contrast to it and WWE actually seems to be addressing that.


WCW did it, WWF did it, TNA did it. Its worked at times and its clearly what's working best for WWE at the moment. There's a certain amount of sense to making it more kid friendly and trying to rope them in and knowing that the hardcore adult fans will still be around and you can feed them the occasional drama, nostalgia trip, or an awesome DVD library to keep them happy. And even if it is a bad business move its their right to make it.

I remember a younger wrestling fan asking me what Cena's finisher was and asking what FU stood for. I think I went the easy way out with Forget U. I can understand why WWE is changing the name. It was fun talking to a fan who still believed it was real, though. I had to catch myself a few times, and not spoil it for him.

I have heard that they are trying to clean up the signs and fans language. Personally, if you're going to get bombed before the show in the parking lot with booze, at least sit in a luxury box to be amongst friends when you shout out stuff. But I have no compassion for fans in real sports or fake sports who make a fool of themselves in front of the rest of the audience by swearing. Bottom line, kids may not have the money, but they make their parents spend the money. As for signs, unless it has blatant swear words on it, they should be allowed. Remember, it was the WWF years ago who opened Pandora's Box and said it was "expressing one's First Amendment rights." I've noticed the volume of signs have decreased over the years. I went to a WCW pay per view Bash at the Beach in San Diego(great show-Karl Malone and DDP ended the show in my aisle 4 fans away) and before we got into the show, they had a bunch of WCW workers screening the signs. I had a sign that said "Jericho is God" that was questioned by the obviously pro-religion white trash worker.

2/2 Raw TV results from St. Louis, MO: William Regal & Layla over CM
Punk & Mickie James, Cryme Tyme vs. Ted DiBiase Jr. & Cody Rhodes was a
no contest, Kane & Mike Knox over Rey Mysterio & Kofi Kingston, Beth
Phoenix over Candice Michelle, and John Cena over Chris Jericho.

Notes: Lot's of news coming out of the show which drew just over 12,000.
Added to the 2/15 No Way Out PPV: Randy Orton vs Shane McMahon in a no
holds barred match, and JBL vs. HBK in (I guess) an 'I Own You' match --
the stipulation being that if HBK loses JBL owns him, his name and his
marketing rights forever.

Ric Flair was announced as returning next week to confront Jericho over
the Mickey Rourke angle. Athough "retired" he has hinted during recent
interviews at being willing to work at Wrestlemania. I really don't
think Flair was ready to retire last year and is still in reasonable
shape -- I suppose they could always do some type of street fight deal.

Undertaker vs. Orton was also announced for next weeks Raw which would
be the first time they've met in two years.

Kane was added to the elimination chamber as a reward for bringing Taker
to Raw to face Orton. So that match is finalised as John Cena (c) vs.
Kofi Kingston vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho vs. Mike Knox vs. Kane.

Rosa Mendes is now aligned with Glamarella as their "intern". Mendes
(Milena Roucka) has been in developmental since finishing 4th in 2006

wondering.

Before the show they had Orton cut a promo on St Louis to ensure he got
booed during the live broadcast. Mark Henry beat DJ Gabriel in the dark
match, and after Raw went off the air Cena had another match and pinned
Orton.


2/2 Smackdown house show results from Tupelo, MO: Kizarny over Eric
Escobar, Carlito & Primo defeated The Brian Kendrick & Ezekial Jackson,
Eve Torres over Natalya, Umaga over Jimmy Wang Yang, Vladimir Kozlov
over Chavo Guerrero, Shelton Benjamin over MVP, and Edge over The Great
Khali.

Notes: The show drew 3200. They did the same spot as the night before
with referee Scott Anderson kicking Edge' butt to close the show.

CM Punk vs. William Regal for the IC title has also been announced for
next weeks Raw in Oakland.

Inside joke alert: During the Raw broadcast last night Jerry Lawler
said: "Regal has a permanent snarl, like he ate some bad peanut butter."
A number of WWE workers recently suffered food poisoning which was
blamed on some tainted peanut butter in catering at one of the shows.

As previously reported AC/DC were contacted by WWE to perform at
Wrestlemania 25. It was confirmed today that the band won't be
performing due to to a clash of dates with their European tour. The
official theme songs for Mania will be AC/DC's "Shoot to Thrill" and
"War Machine". Apparently Vince is huge fan after getting his first
exposure to the band back in 2000 when they were performing on Saturday
Night Live.

Bodybuilding.com interviewed Batista about how he maintains his
physique. "My weight training program nowadays is just really high reps.
Very fast and intense; I don't use heavy weight anymore and I don't over
do my workout. I also never go to complete failure; because with WWE I
am on the road wrestling so much that my body does not have time to
recover, So basically I do more of a maintenance work out, a lot of

Reader John Chapiewski sent in the following: I just got back from a
church by the name of Victory Assembly of God down here in Columbus, GA.
Lex Luger was the guest speaker and gave a truly impassioned speech
about his life ( He referred to it as the “Old Lex” vs. the “New Lex”).
He looked very brittle on the stage but he said this was the first time
he could walk without the aid of a cane in months. He talked about his
football career, wrestling career, the time he spent in prison, his
stroke and paralysis, the death of Elizabeth, the demise of his marriage
and his salvation through Jesus Christ. Lots of tears in the crowd. He
posed for pictures afterward but he couldn’t sign autographs because he
still doesn’t have total control of his motor skills. He now volunteers
his time with paralysis patients and does public speaking appearances at
churches. I just wanted to let you know that because he seems very
sincere with his “second chance” at life.

All they need to do now is slap some yellow bandana on his big head, give him some yellow boots and yellow trunks, and {POOF} We now have Hulk Cena Version 2.0.
