Based almost solely on the strength of Stevie Wonder and The Boss, I had to go Sportsguy.

Wonder is awesome. Everyone else on SG's is ok for me at best. Most of Byrne's guys are above average for me with Plant coming in a little higher.

I think Byrne's group makes more sense AS A GROUP. SG's band seems a little patched-together to me. I'm viewing these showdowns from roughly the same viewpoint as I did the Superhero showdown. Would these people work together as a band? And I think Byrne's group would work better.

I don't know how Fish's group would mesh but I know I want to see. If you told me that group was performing for the first time somewhere tonight and we could go I'd regret not having at least seen it fail. How could I not with names like Springsteen and Wonder? But offer me the same for Byrne's group, and while they might mesh together better I'd never once in my life regret not seeing them.

I really feel that My group would mesh well together for a hard rock / early metal type sound.

Just something about Plant and Cornell singing together picques my interest.

Also Van Halen is known for a techincal style, while Dimebag has a groovier, sludgier sound. I believe their styles would mesh well together.

Lars and Cliff founded one of the best (in my opinion) metal rhythem sections as well.

Even though I didn't really think of setlists, I would think songs like this would showcase [glow=red,5,300]Devil Made Me Do It...[/glow]

Pairing Lars and Cliff together was a great idea, and negates any suckiness that Lars may have. I personally would have went Dave Lombardo instead of Lars, though. Still I voted for the metal band. It sounds like a good idea to me.

Also, why would you have Plant sing a Soundgarden song when you already have Chris Cornell?

Taylor Swift is a big "huh?" for me on Sportsguy's band. And I liked his band better when Entwistle was his bass player. But still, Bruce and Stevie together is all kinds of awesome. I like Billy Joe in the mix, too, and Rick Allen is a fine drummer for this crew.

Funny you should say about Lombardo, he was on my list, but I didn't take him even though he's regarded as a MUCH BETTER drummer, but has less name recognition.

And I didn't think me saying "He's the drummer from Slayer" over and over would carry as much cache as everybody knowing Lars from Metallica.

I thought Springsteen/Wonder was one of the best starts to the draft, but the rest of the group just doesn't seem to fit together. I can't even begin to imagine what kind of music they'd play.
