AWF World Heavyweight Championship: Eddie Guerrero vs “Rowdy” Roddy Piper
Eddie Guerrero vs. Roddy Piper is almost like a dream match. Two of the most notorious cheaters going at each other one-on-one. Surely a lot of chicanery will be involved.

Yeah, they should both cheat like hell, and Vince can put them in a Pure Rules match for card #2.

Of course, thats the sole reason why I put them together
I have to be honest, I'm really disappointed in this card. I think you have one of the deepest, quality rosters and for the most part I just don't like how specific people are being used. I've noticed a few people already complimented the Eddie/Piper match but I really don't. I don't think Piper can keep up with Eddie in the ring and I get shades of grey in a character, but I don't like shades of grey vs. shades of grey at the top of a card. I would have much preferred Eddie against either a pure heel or face. But against someone with such a similar character, I think I feel cheated that Eddie won't be able to be full-blown either way.
After that, I really hate the Regal/Danielson v. Kenta/KENTA match. I know the vibe you were going for with teacher/student match but Regal never really trained Danielson and it just seems like it'd have been done better either split up or with a different set-up. I almost think Kobashi/Danielson v. KENTA/Regal may have been better as it keeps the KENTA/Danielson part split and that has always been exceptional and then you get teacher v. student which just feels better to me. And then you have Marafuji just wasting away in a random cluster match. Mara fucking fuji who, in my opinion, is actually better than KENTA has to deal with watching Fleisch and Storm fuck up in the most monumental of ways.
I do think the IC match is really good. And the woman's title match with Del Rey and Toyota will be good. Steenerico v. KoW should be a solid tag match and Akiyama v. Shiozaki is a solid strong-style match. But poor Rick Rude. He can main event a company and here he's stuck with Petey Williams.
I agree with Dev about the tag title match. Very random, two unestablished teams pairing up to fight for a title. Even stranger when you have Steenerico v. KoW, two former world tag team champion teams, fighting for nothing.
I'm okay with Guerrero v. Piper, but that's because of the promos I would have written for the build.
That Jr Battle Royal is a loaded freakin' match. Marufuji v. Ruckus v. Kanemoto v. Samurai v. CIMA v. DKid v. Fleisch v. Jigsaw v. TOKYO v. Storm is a ton of guys. If they're all in at once and trying to throw each other over the top...that's kind of a waste. Not sure what I would have done, but I'd mark the fuck out for Marufuji v. Kanemoto v. CIMA v. DKid in an elimination match. Then you can have Ruckus & Jigsaw v. Fleisch & Storm, and Samurai vs. TOKYO. Or hell...CIMA, TOKYO & Dkid vs. Marufuji, Kanemoto & Samurai in a six-man. Granted, it could be a gauntlet or something that I don't quite get yet and surprise me.

The promos would be awesome. And I think the match would be fun, too.

Hmm, that idea with the tag title match can work. This was kinda just a rough draft idea I had for a card.
I agree with you about Rude as well. I just couldn't think of anyone to put him together with. At first, I wanted to put him together with Billy Graham, but I didn't want a match with two heels of that caliber facing each otehr.
As for the Battle Royal, originally I wanted to have a Jr. Heavyweight tournament, but I didn't want to add 4 more matches to an already loaded card.
This would've been my original idea, as well as some of the other ideas requested added in. I have no idea where to place Ivan Putski in here though:
Opening Match: Jun Akiyama vs Go Shiozaki
Two out of 3 Falls match for the AWF Women’s championship: Manami Toyota vs Sara Del Ray
Petey Williams vs Magnum TOKYO
AWF Tag Title match: Kevin Steen & El Generico vs Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli
Students vs Teachers Match: Bryan Danielson & KENTA vs William Regal & Kenta Kobashi
“Ravishing” Rick Rude w/ Jimmy Hart and Ivan Putski vs “Superstar” Billy Graham w/ Captain Lou Albano
AWF Intercontinental Championship Fatal 4-way: Nigel McGuinness vs Mike Quackenbush vs Super Dragon vs Naomichi Marufuji
Inferno Hell in a Cell Barbed-Wire Ropes match for the title of Queen of the Deathmatch: Megumi Kudo vs LuFisto
Rick Rude and "Superstar" Billy Graham face each other, freeing up Petey Williams, who can then face Magnum TOKYO.
But then I've got nothing for Putski.
I'd wait on it. You can develop that feud. Unless you have a match to add Putski to (or ref, or enforce, of something). Someone on this card needs some Polish Power!

Close but not yet perfect for the tag match. Ideally I actually think Danielson & Kobashi vs. KENTA & Regal is the way to go. You still get the student vs. teacher vibe but you add in the KENTA/Danielson vibe which has already proven to be gold in the ring. And I think you need a solid heavyweight to oppose Kobashi and Regal fits there.
If I had done the card, I'd probably have done Rude vs. Eddie and Piper vs. Putski and maybe Graham as Petey's mentor. Play off the Maple Leaf Muscle role he was working with Steiner. But I do like this card a bit more than the original. Marafuji isnt being wasted at all as he and Nigel have done some awesome stuff together. Quack can work with anyone and if it's Super Dragon showing up instead of Fat Injured Dragon, he's an awesome guy there as well.
Also, it looks like you have two intercontinental titles. I assume the tournament is for the Lightweight title?
I know that not everybody is a promo writer, but that's going to count against you a little when you try to sell a main-event with two great talkers like Roddy and Eddie.

Yeah Dev, the winner of the Intercontinental tournament becomes the #1 contender for the title. If I make it through, that match will be on the final card, more than likely with some stipulation.

When i saw Eddie/Piper posted, I thought of Shawn Michaels book where he talks about wrestling Mr. perfect. 2 guys who do the exact same thing very very well didnt necessarily mesh well. I see that here. sounds like a dream Match.... and then I'm afradi it will be only good, not great
Big thank you goes out to Dash for helping me out with this.
The Anglefan Wrestling Federation presents a retrospective look at the events leading up to the AWF World Heavyweight Championship match between Eddie Guerrero & “Rowdy” Roddy Piper.
(We have no actual video to provide because--much like Shane McMahon’s ECW--we don’t employ Lucky Lopez).
Piper’s Pit When Guerrero & Piper were drafted by the AWF, their showdown was unavoidable. Piper, knowing this, invited Guerrero to be a guest on a special edition of The Piper’s Pit. Piper was his usual self, heaping praises upon Guerrero to the point that everyone, including Eddie, knew it was insincere. When Eddie questioned this, Piper responded in kind.
Roddy Piper: “Let me tell you one thing Guerrero. You and I have many things in common. Personal deamons…successful careers…disregard for the rules and authority…but one thing we don’t have in common is a world championship. You’ve held one, I haven’t. I deserve a world title! And I will someday win the AWF World Heavyweight Championship. But first I need you to admit one thing to me.
Eddie Guerrero: What is it, esse?
Piper: The lying, the cheating, the stealing. Be honest. YOU STOLE THE WHOLE GIMMICK FROM ME!
Guerrero: What are you talking about holmes? You come out here and blow smoke up my ass for 5 minutes, then expect me to admit I stole my character from you? I don’t think so, esse.
Piper: Fine then, so be it. You’re not welcome in my Pit anymore. GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!
Guerrero starts to leave, when Piper decides to recreate one of his many contributions to the memory of many wrestling fans. Piper cracks Guerrero over the head with a coconut! Eddie is out, and Piper continues to yell at him like a mad man before security enters and breaks things up.
Nice Angle. But, uh, wouldn't of Piper cracked Eddie over the head with a hubcap or a piñata?
It would amuse me if next year Byrne did a women's fed or Texas fed. I'd just like to see how he tries to make it a dark, demonic, ECW homage led by James Mitchell or Raven. -- Lucky, 2009
see. i told you byrne was the way to go here. like i said, he's a big dork. -- Ziggy, 2009
I wanted to spread this out more, but since the showdown's tomorrow, I guess I'll just post everything
Roddy Piper Personal Appearance
Piper was making a non-AWF related personal appearance, but the AWF sent cameras to capture it for future use. Afterwards, Piper was outside providing comments for many of the local reporters. Suddenly, Piper is distracted as his convertible drives by! Piper checks his pockets to reveal he still has his keys, when the convertible drives by again. After it passes, the top opens up, and a DVD is thrown into the crowd. One of the fans finally gets the DVD to Piper, and cameras reveal it to be “Cheating Death, Stealing Life: The Eddie Guerrero Story.” Piper throws a fit as the cameras fade out.
Piper meets with Vince McMahon, Sr to request a match against Guerrero on the first AWF show.
Roddy Piper: Listen Mister McMahon, I know you’re very busy. And you’ve amassed an amazing roster of talented wrestlers. But I want one thing, Mister McMahon, one thing.
Vince McMahon, Sr: Piper, you’re a testament to the business. Your contributions are felt world wide. What can I do for you?
Piper: I want Eddie Guerrero.
McMahon: [Laughs.]
Piper: What’s so funny!?
McMahon: It’s just ironic. Eddie was in here about 20 minutes ago, asking for the very same thing. It’s already official. Eddie Guerrero vs. Roddy Piper for the AWF World Heavyweight Championship at the first show.
Piper: What!? Eddie asked for it first! That bastard!
McMahon: You got your match, what’s the problem, Piper?
