I've had increasing problems loading various pages here the last few weeks. It doesn't happen all the time but is now hitting me worse than the OO lag. I'm just trying to figure out if this is my computer or the board itself. I think I've noticed it happening more on pages with complicated applets on top or with posters with large sigs or avs, so maybe its just me.

And this isn't an appeal for restrictions on avs or sigs or anything. I really am just curious as to whether this is just my problem or if others have noticed it.

I'm using FireFox 3.5.2 and IE 8

More specifically, are you having any issues with proboards.com, or other sites such as google.com or others?

It may be a weird cache issues as well. try flushing your cache on your browser. What browser are you using Lucky, Safari or FireFox?

If Firefox - go and update it, they put out a new version a couple days back.

I'm using Safari 4.0.2 and FireFox... well, I have no idea what FireFox I was using because when I just opened it to check it downloaded a new upgrade automatically so now I'm running 3.0.13. Its less of a problem in Safari which actually made me switch over from Firefox, which I had been using pretty exclusively until a month or so ago when this started. I've done most of the computer cleaning stuff I know of but its really not affecting anything but the internet browsers, and really only Pun's House. I'll encounter an occasional slow down on some sites loaded with flash and thingies but that's nothing different. Its only this board that I've noticed a real change about. And I run pretty complicated shit like Yahoo's Stat Tracker with no real problem.

Like I said, I've noticed it more when reading posts from the folks with large and/or animated avs/sigs. I'm guessing its just loading the whole image up and then the way the board shrinks it down that's just overloading shit. I actually had avs/sigs turned off for much of last week when I was just sick of it. When reading a 3 page thread it gets mindnumbing when each page takes 5 minutes to load.

And I should specify, its not "loading" so much that's the problem like the lag at OO. Its that the browser itself will lock up while its doing whatever and stop responding. It will EVENTUALLY come back to me but the delays are sometimes enough to lead me to just force the program to close and start over. Especially since unlike OO I can't just open another window and do whatever while its loading.

I get a random blank page load from time to time. One refresh and it's good to go, but I would guess this happens every other day or so.

Oh yeah, I get that, but it happens quick and I just reload so I don't pay it no mind.

You could always call Toys R' Us for Tech Support.

I occasionally have loading issues as well. Some times the whole page wont load & I'll get only five or six posts. A reload usually fixes that. Usually it's in threads that have several youtube clips or a ton of pics. The only av that I've noticed ever loads really slowly was Byrne's 'Byrne Notice' av. The PH banner always loads slow.

That all being said, I know my issue is being dial-up. Not sure about yours Lucky.

Much to Lucky's chagrin, I have no problem whatsoever logging in or viewing anything here at punshouse using the laptop, cpu or iphone. And I never have.
