a sports team has finally done it. the jets it seems have priced themselves out. a year ago, the jets had a season tickets waiting list that was 5-10 years long. now? well last night while perusing this very website, i saw a banner ad from the jets trying to sell season tickets for the 2009 season.

and that's the key thing to notice, the 2009 season. the price hike, which includes higher ticket prices plus the new personal seating licenses, doesn't start till the new stadium opens for the 2010 season. but people are so pissed off they're apparently just dumping their tickets now.

i think this is fantastic. i got my season tickets for this season, but my brother and i already decided this was it. the new stadium tickets are just too much. and perhaps with this mass exodus fans the sports teams in general will finally realize there is a limit to what people will put up with.

So you would pay for the ticket and a seating licence? Does this mean you get first go at any even at that stadium for the seats you have licences for?

negative. seating licenses get you nothing but the right to sell the seating license if you choose to get rid of your tickets. of course, if you can't find someone to buy the license and still need or want to end your season tickets, then you just have to forfeit it and it goes back to the jets and you get nothing.

the jets are now discounting season ticket packages and even offering half season packages. my family has had season tickets for about 18 years now, and that shit was unheard of.
