I’m bored and I’m pissed so I’ll pretend like I’m working and I’ll rant.
Why am I bored: work is super slow, super super slow. I’m used to having way too much stuff on my plate and having nothing makes me nervous. Should I be nervous, no, but that’s the way I am. So when I get sort of nervous, I get grumpy. When I’m grumpy I easily get pissed. So you guessed it, I’m pissed.
THERE ARE NO FUCKING ENGLISH MOVIES IN QUEBEC CITY! 600 000 + in population, prides itself on being a cultural city, but no godam movies that are not translated! Not even GI fucken Joe. Before I left for Calgary they used to have 3 to 4 English titles at once. One or two new ones each week. But now, the theatre that was running the English titles (Star City) got bought off by Odeon (they were right next to each other, jeez couldn’t see that one coming). So now I’m stuck, bored out of my mind and not able to see summer blockbusters or crapfests when they come out. “Well Habs” you might say “why don’t you go see them in French, it is your native tongue isn’t it?”. Let’s get something straight. You guys might not understand this, because you get the movies in their original language, but translated movies suck big time. And by no mean is this the Cory likes to suck Ziggy type of big time suck. It’s the hairy sweaty balls type of suck (so OK maybe it is the Cory likes to suck Ziggy type of big time suck). It’s more often than not the same voice over, so you have Sean Connery, Matt Damon, Eddy Murphy sharing the same voice!!!! If there’s any humor involved that is witty, you lose that for sure. They only reason I go see translated movies, is if the girl I’m going with cute. I swear it’s THE only reason.
Other than that, this city is great. I highly recommend you come and visit, just don’t plan to see movies (unless you want original version French movie, but they often suck too).
