Last Week
Division play took its last go before an extended interleague break. MKid made a charge on the Cupcakes lead passing Mikey but Lucky managed to narrowly hold on with a half game lead. Dev extended his undefeated run to a season best 7 weeks and padded his Bananas Division lead a bit. Vols and AA ended losing streaks but remain below .500 and out of the mix. Pun, Grover, Moose, and Solly feel back deeper in the hole.
And if you missed it I compiled the Head-To-Head stats of all teams through the first 3 1/3rd seasons (don't expect that to be updated until July or August).
Interleague Play
Lucky's Spreadsheet Studs comes into Week 7 narrowly hanging onto the Cupcakes Division lead and faces off against arch rival AA's 3-Time! 3-Time! 3-Time! who ended a season worst losing streak last week and is looking to get back into the competition. The two saw a pretty very even matchup going into the weekend which Lucky led 7-4-3 thanks in large part to a 2.95 ERA and a .922 OPS. But AA wasn't far behind in any category guaranteeing a competitive weekend. Lucky's pitching took a hit over the weekend but held steady despite raising his ERA to 3.54 but 3 Saves grabbed AA a category. But Lucky grabbed HRs with 4 and thanks to 4 Ls from AA ended up improving his score for a final of 8-4-2.
Two teams on rough slides face off as the Bananas' Beat Me Solly goes against the Cupcakes' Pun's It Byrne's When I Peavy. Solly had a 4 week losing streak coming in and a 4 matchup losing streak against Pun dating back to 2006, but entered into the weekend with a strong 10-2-2 lead. Unfortunately things would only get worse for Pun as the week went on. Solly came up with 9 HRs, 25 RBI, and 24 R over the weekend to counter the slight offensive edge Pun had, and along with a pair of saves came close to giving Pun a historic beating. Thanks to a last minute HLD Pun managed to avoid the sweep but still fell by the shutout score of 13-0-1. The first league shutout since MKid beat Dev 13-0-1 in Week 22 of 2007!
MKid's Dual National Champions comes into Week 7 one of the hottest teams in the league with a 4 week winning streak and half a game out of the Cupcakes Division lead. His opponent is GM's Comerica National Park who just ended a 3 week winning streak and looking to regain the ground in the Bananas Division he lost last week. Going into the weekend a stellar pitching performance of a 2.59 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, 40 K, and 3 Ws was helping him to an 8-4-2 lead. He would manage to grab hold of L, HLD, and SV over the weekend to sweep pitching but Kid managed to take back RBI, AVG, and tie HR to balance things. In the end it was 29 offensive Ks that allowed GM to up his score to a final of 9-4-1.
Both teams find themselves in the middle of their divisions and fighting to rise up as the Cupcakes' Mikey's Blue Sox takes on Banana's Army's Balad Shithooks. Mikey held a substantial 9-2-3 lead going into the weekend with strong performances across the board in pitching and hittings, but Army remained very close in most categories and made a public proclamation that his offense would rebound as it often has. Army backed the claim up by taking the RBI, AVG, and OPS categories and added 5 SVs to grab that category as well. But ultimately he'd be his own undoing as 4 Ls and 26 Ks made up much of the difference and allowed Mikey to hold onto for an 8-5-1 win.
The basement dwellers in both division face off with the presumption that one must get healthy when Moose's OneEyed Jacks went against Grover's New Day Co-Op. It was Moose who looked well on his way going into the weekend with an 11-3-0 with a solid ERA of 3.56 and strong AVG/OPS of .336/.917. The only real change over the weekend was a pair of SB that allowed Grover to tie it but which would be far too little to avoid his 7th loss in 8 weeks as Moose wins 10-3-1.
Finally Bananas' division leader Dev's Jersey ColdFusion looked to continue a tremendous run against Vols' Schwetty Vols, a team that has been 5-2 against Dev over the league's history (and who Dev hasn't defeated since 2006). That streak looked to continue going into the weekend as Vols held a narrow 6-5-3 lead but Dev remained close enough to turn it around. The narrow lead would widen as Vols would add 7 HR, 4 W, and 2 SB and keep the streak going with a 10-4-0 victory, ending Dev's 6 week undefeated run.
Standings
Contention is close in the Bananas division where Dev's big loss means only 3 games separate 1st and 4th in the division. Dev holds onto a small lead but GM's big win brings him into a tie for 2nd with Army at only 1.5 games back. But the biggest climber of the week has to be Solly who's shutout victory propels him 6 games over .500 and only 3 Gs out of 1st and 1.5 out of the playoffs. Another big winner was Moose who made up 7 Gs on 1st but still sits in last place and 11 Gs behind a playoff spot. AA's loss leaves him in not much different place 9 games under .500 and 10 back from the pack.
Last week MKid took a massive jump and got within half a game of the Cupcakes lead but his loss and Lucky's win takes the division leader back from the brink and gives Lucky a 5 Game lead over Kid. And despite his win Mikey loses half a game in the chase but gets within half a game of 2nd and Kid. Vols climbs back over .500 with his big win and within 6.5 of 2nd place. Another pair of big losses drive Pun and Grover even further back and alone in the league gutter at 28.5 and 30.5 back.
All told the divisions split the week with Lucky, Mikey, and Vols scoring wins for Cupcakes and Solly, Moose, and GM scoring wins for Bananas. 3-3 stands the Interleague record.
Mikey's Stats
In the vs. league average tables, 0.00 is the league average. Anything more than 1.00 either positive or negative is very strong (or weak if negative). Once you get up (or down) near 2.00 it's a number that lends itself to being a statistical anomaly and is due to come back to the pack sooner or later.

This Week
Interleague play continues! Solly has recorded his first career win against Moose this season and his first win since 2006 against Pun, now he looks to record his first career win against Lucky, who looks to continue his 4 week undefeated streak and build his division lead. Dev looks to get back on the right track and build his lead against Grover, who continues his quest for his first W of the season as well as his first career W against Dev. GM looks to continue his charge on Dev against Pun, who looks to avoid an early firesale. Army and MKid both look to restart their charges on 1st but only one of them can (Kid hasn't beat Army since '07). Mikey looks to beat Moose for the first time since 2007 as Moose has won 3 straight.
