I missed Week 13 and there's no real point in trying to make it up but here's a quick W14 just so the break isn't so long. Hopefully I should be able to do Week 15 on time tomorrow and get back on schedule.
Lucky's season record 8 week undefeated streak was ended at the hands of Vols who extended his own undefeated streak to 7 weeks by giving Lucky his 2nd L of the season. This big victory not only cut a huge part of Lucky's lead over Vols but also Mike and MKid as both took advantage of matchups against Grover and Pun. In the end all 3 were within 7-10 Gs of Lucky after starting the week 11.5-14.5 back. Army kept rolling and barreled over AA to knock him all the way back to 20.5 Gs back. Dev stayed on pace 8.5 back with a win over Moose, who spent the week dismantling his team to strengthen the rest of the Bananas Division. But a newly restocked GM still took a huge 1-13 loss to an equally restocked Solly to knock him back to 18 Gs behind 1st. For another week The Cupcakes Division held on to 4 playoff spots as MKid finished the week 4 Gs ahead of Solly.
Cupcakes Division
Lucky's Spreadsheet Studs took their 2nd loss of the season last week ending a season best undefeated streak but now look to get things back on pace against MKid's Dual National Champions who got back within 10 Gs of Lucky after a big win last week. Going into the weekend things were all tied up between the two as MKid held a strong lead in 5 of 7 offensive categories while Lucky returned the favor with 5 of 7 pitching categories. Over the course of the weekend Kid would drop his ERA nearly a run and a half while Lucky would raise his but Kid would be unable to close the gap in any categories. Meanwhile Lucky would have similar trouble on the offensive side and a rare thing would happen as the two teams hold the same score over the course of the weekend. Lucky holds steady at 10 ahead of Kid with a 7-7-0 tie on the week.
In a case of the have nots Pun's It Byrne's When I Peavy and Grover's New Day Co-Op face off in a battle of the 2 teams clearly out of contention, especially with Grover now firesaling. Going into the weekend Pun was leading the purely for bragging rights matchup 8-5-1 but by a very narrow margin. Grover stayed steady over the weekend which allowed his AVG (which started the weekend at .2675 and ended at .2679 to beat an AVG on Pun's side that dropped a mere 12 points. Pun's Ks would also climb notching another W for Grover. Luckily for Pun he'd pick up 2 Ws over the weekend notching him one category back and finishing the week with a close 7-6-1 victory.
Vols' Schwetty Vols takes a 7 week undefeated streak and the momentum of crushing the top team in the division against Mikey's Blue Sox who step back on track with a 2 week winning streak after a short slide. Vol's run of dominance looked to be coming to an end going into the weekend as Mikey led 8-4-2 although this was not due to poor performance on Vols' part as he was losing the ERA category 2.88 to 2.74, Ks 41 to 43, RBI 21 to 22, and his 2 HDs were meaningless against Mike's whopping 5. Unfortunately things would take a bad turn for Grover over the weekend as he racked up 2 Ls and raised his ERA to 4.55. He did manage to take the K category from Mike but Mike nabbed Rs by a margin of 6. It was good enough to increase his lead and end Vols' run by a final score of 9-5-0.
Bananas Division
AA's 3-Time! 3-Time! 3-Time! looked to be back on the winning track after a rough start to the season before he ran into the buzzsaw at the top of the division in Army. This week he gets the newly restocked Beat Me Solly as he looks to salvage his poor start thanks to a host of trades. AA would hold a small 7-6-1 lead going into the weekend thanks to a 5-0-1 pitching score, but Solly would take 5 of 6 offensive categories to balance it out. During the weekend AA's pitching lost a step allowing Solly to draw even with him in Ws and come dangerously close in ERA/WHIP although not far enough. AA would return the favor on the offensive side by going even in HRs. While neither side was able to grab a new W on the weekend 2 new ties left AA with a win, but a slightly less impressive one at 6-5-3.
Army's Balad Shithooks has dominated most of this season and has been running through a tough schedule of late but gets a bit of a break against Moose's OneEyed Jacks who spent the last week tearing his team apart. Or at least that's what you'd expect before looking at the scoreboard going into the weekend and seeing Moose with a commanding 10-4-0 lead! Army's pitching began to fight back over the weekend going from down 43 Ks to 46 to winning the category by a mere 1 K (65 to 64). Meanwhile 3 Ws on the week would draw him even at 8 with Moose and 3 SVs would nab him a 2nd category. Unfortunatelly his much vaunted offense would fail him and he'd lose the AVG category he led by only .0004 pts. This would help balance out Moose's losses and lead him to a shocking upset as the last place firesaling team in the division knocks off the top in the division 8-5-1.
GM's Comerica National Park has been dealt hard luck for awhile now watching great team performances fall to the best teams in the league and restocking his team last week only to get run over by another team juicing up. This week he'll get another renewed roster in Dev's Jersey ColdFusion. GM's lucky would have appeared to turn going into the weekend as he lead Dev 10-4-0 thanks to an across the board performance that included 44 Rs, 11 HRs, a 5-1 W-L record, and a 1.08 WHIP. GM's pitching would only get better over the weekend dropping his ERA down to a stellar 2.53 and a 0.98 WHIP while finishing with an 8-1 W-L. Dev would however rack up 3 SVs over the weekend to finish the week winning 4-3 while on the offensive side of things a narrow 38-37 RBI lead for GM would become a 49-48 win for Dev. It was enough to minimize the damage but not turn things around as GM comes out on top 8-6-0 ending a 4 week winning streak for Dev.
On the Cupcakes side of things Kid would remain 10 back of Lucky thanks to the tie but Vols' loss would move him from 7 back to 9 back. Lucky would however lose more ground as Mikey moves into 2nd and within 6 of 1st place. Pun moves half a game closer to the worst record despite a win over Grover. For another week MKid would hold onto the 6th playoff spot with a record even with the 2nd place Bananas team.
On the Bananas side Army too would lose a game on his lead as Dev goes from 9 back to 8. Solly would gain ground despite his loss going from 14 GB to 12.5 while AA would make up 3 Gs in the standings, sitting 10.5 back of the playoffs. GM's troubles got a bit better as he gets within 15.5. of 1st and 7.5 of the playoffs. Moose's surprising win would up his record but not surprisingly leave him in last place, although 1 G close to AA at 5th.
In the vs. league average tables, 0.00 is the league average. Anything more than 1.00 either positive or negative is very strong (or weak if negative). Once you get up (or down) near 2.00 it's a number that lends itself to being a statistical anomaly and is due to come back to the pack sooner or later.

The All Star break means a shortened 4 day contest for our teams which makes things primed for upsets and tough losses. Bananas division leader Army looks to get back on track as he takes on the 2nd place team in Dev. Mikey and MKid face off in a battle of the Cupcakes playoff contenders. GM fights to get back in the playoff picture vs AA who is struggling to stay competitive in a much tougher league than it was a week ago. Lucky looks to rebuild some of his Cupcakes lead against Pun while Vols looks to get back on the winning road against Grover. And Solly looks to keep the momentum going against Moose who already had one surprising upset last week. And hopefully I'll get back on pace and cover all the transaction action from the last few weeks.
