As ECW showed you can be "hardcore" but technical. He might not be a vampire and bleeder, but I argue that Taz was as hardcore as any motherfucker in ECW.

Yeah, Lucky, I gotta disagree with you here. Taz was as hardcore as they come in ECW. Just check out any of his matches against Bam Bam.

I don't necessarily equate hardcore with "garbage wrestling". Taz, Benoit, Malenko, Taijiri, were all hardcore with the added bonus of being great technical wrestlers.

Being able to brawl doesn't make you hardcore. Trust me, I've seen enough ECW and I'd never describe Taz as hardcore. Vicious, yes. Able to adapt to a brawl, yes...but not hardcore. And again, it doesn't matter here, but in the future it's going to be held against this team for me.

Malenko is NOT hardcore. I don't care what we say about the rest, Malenko is NOT hardcore and I can't think of a single match to argue otherwise.

We can screw around with the meaning of "hardcore" and make it fit but I think the widely accepted definition of "hardcore" and what the audience at large would expect from naming a group that would be violent and bloody and over the top. And Taz was ruthless and efficient but he never had that "hardcore" thing, even in his battles with Sabu. His fights with Bam Bam could get crazy but that's just because they two men couldn't beat each other and then crazy shit would happen. But if Taz is "hardcore" because he might fall through a stage that's less qualification than Norman Smiley in my book.

But there's no way Malenko is hardcore. Benoit? Sure, maybe. I saw the Sullivan feud. Tajiri? I don't buy it but, meh. Taz? Again, no buy but ok. But Dean Malenko is not hardcore.
