Chris Farley totally passed me by. I think the only thing I've seen with him in a significant role was Beverly Hills Ninja, and I'm not sure I sat through all of it. But we're actually talking about the character and not the actor, so I looked the film up on imdb:

An incompetent, immature, and dimwitted heir to an auto parts factory must save the business to keep it out of the hands of his new, con-artist relatives and big business.

David Spade was great in Tommy Boy. Although I'm surprised Moose liked him. His favorite team was the Yankees.

Beverly Hills Ninja sucked. Black Sheep wasn't very good and the one with Matthew Perry was decent. Tommy Boy was funny. And Spade played the smug sarcatic asshole well. Great even. If you liked Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore then you'll probably like Tommy Boy, Stu.
