AMERICAN LEAGUE
Rays over Rangers in 4
Twins over Yanks in 5
Rays over Twins in 6
If Tampa can beat Lee on Wednesday, the Rays might sweep. BUT... the Tampa bats have to wake up. They seem to be in this lull that they have fallen into every six weeks or so this season. I think the Twins/Yanks series has the potential to be a classic, and in addition to a five game series, I'll predict extras in the deciding game with Mauer hitting a walkoff homer. They'll name the next stadium after him. After the emotional win over the Yanks, Minnesota has a letdown and goes into a 3-0 hole against Tampa, rallies for two dramatic home wins, but runs out of steam down in St. Pete.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Phillies over Reds in 3
Giants over Braves in 5
Phillies over Giants in 6
Cincy can't compete with Halladay/Oswalt/Hamels. Almost nobody can except... the Giants, who can throw Lincecum/Cain out there to match them. I don't see how what's left of Atlanta's lineup can get to either of the San Fran aces, leaving the series in the hands of Atlanta pitching, and I think they can handle the Giants lineup enough to make the series competitive. But if it gets to Game 5 by the Bay and Lincecum's on the hill, lights out Bobby Cox. It's been a good run. If Lincecum has to pitch a Game 5, that leaves him unavailable for a Game 1 versus a rested Philly. But I could see Cain stealing one, Lincecum getting the W in Game 3, but the Phils are too tough and too tested to go out here.
WORLD SERIES
Phillies over Rays in 6
Beyond Price's ace stability, Garza and Shields have been all over the place this season. Davis is going to be good, but is still young. One ace pitcher and a bunch of hot/cold bats don't inspire worlds of confidence against a Halladay/Oswalt/Hamels monster. Tampa will win a couple they probably shouldn't, just because they have this weird ability to win silly games like that, but they need more than that against this bunch. It's Philly's ring to lose, y'all.
