so my bosses gave us all ipod touches as a holiday gift (in addition to a sizable cash bonus) and i gotta say i'm loving this thing. organizing the music is way better than the traditional ipod, the screen is bigger for watching videos, and the wi-fi alone is worth it's existance. i'm fucking loving this thing.

the only negative is space. at 8 gigs, i had to cut some fat when transfering songs from my other ipod (this took up 11 gigs). there's a 16 out there which would be fine for me, but it'd be nice if they rocked a 30 at not too much cost.

anyway, i was just having so much fun with this thing i had to say something. i was IMing from my ipod earlier (thanks to meebo.com) and i just thought that was neato!

Holy fuck, that's one hell of a bonus! What's the difference in terms of organizing the music? Also, the idea of watching something on a touch screen doesn't jive with me cuz of the smudges and whatnot.

Every year I buy myself a nice Christmas gift. I'm generally kind of frugal and don't but toys. But every New Year I like to buy a toy with whatever money I have left. I'm heavily considering the iPod Touch. I know I don't need it. I know it costs too much. But I'm so tempted. I could use a new computer so much more. I could get more fun from a pile of DVDs and CDs and video games. My buddy just reminded me that we want to do a trip to Chicago this year that I should just save the money away as my gift. But the iPod Touch is tempting me.

Some old dude was selling iPod nanos for $100 in the bar a week ago. I should have bought one and just satisfied that whole "mp3 player" desire. I'm probably gonna save for that Chicago trip in the end.

Wait til they come out with an iPod touch with some actual hard drive space. I think the biggest is 8gb right now and it sounds like a lot-it really isn't depending on what you might want to put on yours. I personally have a ton of podcasts and approaching 10,000 songs and the 80 is cutting it close for me. Just seems like the 8 is kinda tiny for the cost.

Yeah, the iPod touch won't do it for me until it has more hard drive space. I have a 60gb iPod and am constantly filling it up. I'm eyeing those new 160gb iPod Classics. But I one of those people that likes to have my entire music collection along with me.

I do want to get one of those nanos, though, but more for running than anything else. Strapping the iPod on the arm is nice, but something smaller and lighter for that would be nicer.

i agree with all of you that the cost isn't worth the space right now. now, i don't need as much space as you guys. i had a 30 gig ipod and only filled up 11. if i had the 16 i'd be golden. but 8 is definitely small and you can get an 80 gig classic for like the same price.

i would never buy this product. at least not right now at it's current price and capacity. but as a free gift? IT'S FUCKING AWESOME. i'm really happy with it. except for the space thing. but everything else rocks.

Hell, yes. Knowing the right bars or pizza places you score the best shit cheap. I was just half in the bag and didn't even know the market price of iPod nanos when he offered. I reconsidered like 15 minutes later but the dude was gone. Ah well. And then after seeing they run at twice the cost I figured I should have made the buy.

But if I really want one I can find one. And yeah, I think the Touch seems like too bad a price. And if I decide to spend that much I'll probably just go for the Wii.

they have a software update with new applications in it for the touch. these applications are A) apps that were already in the iphone that they purposely left out of the touch, and B) available standard now in all new touches. but they want those of us who already have a touch to pay 20 fucking bucks to get the update. that's fucking bullshit.
