ECW and stuff.....

I'm just watching ECW now and I was wondering something. Why in the blue hell would you have Morrison lose last week in his 15 Minutes of Fame match? That really pissed me off. With 5 seconds left, CM Punk pinned Morrison cleanly to get a shot at the gold at the next PPV. WHY???????
I have a problem with CM PUNK getting another shot at the belt. I don't have a problem with the fact that he actually earned it. Unlike MVP a few months ago, he won a #1 contenders match instead of just challenging the champ for 3 straight months.
I don't have a problem with CM Punk lasting 15 minutes. I do have a problem with him winning. Good job, WWE. Punk loses twice to your champ, then beats him in a non-title match. Hurray? Hurrah? Lame. Just have the time expire and show that CM Punk can last 15 Minutes and thus, deserves a title shot. Instead, Punk won. So now the playing field is even? It would make more sense if you bury the guy in two matches to show that he's improving and then have him win at the next PPV. And It's still Johnny fucking Nitro. It wasn't against some proven wrestler like RVD or even maybe a Tommy Dreamer. They just killed the 15 Minute gimmick by having JM lose his third (?) match of this style. Have time expire on him, not a clean loss.
And I know the whole Benoit screwed up things for awhile, but it's been a month and a half. This is a professional company that gets paid million of dollar to come up with interesting story lines and booking scenarios. For crying out loud, get your shit together.
So disheartening.

You know what the WWE should do? At least could do? And this is easy for me to say without regard for money and TV considerations, but I certainly feel like something needs to change for the company to be entertaining again.
1) Trim the roster. Here's some guys and gals to take out back by the wood shed. I wouldn't miss these people, but if they are really cheap or contribute behind the scenes significantly (they should be shot for that offense), than they can have a pass.
Just going through the names really quickly here:
RAW
-The Highlanders - Never worked. Never were given a chance. Heel them up and if that doesn't work, cut 'em.
-Hacksaw - Iffy. I'm either way on him.
-The Sandman - It's time.
-Snitsky - It was never time.
-Candice - Yup.
Smackdown
-Major Brothers - Not interesting at all. They don't use them. Waste of money right now. Use them or cut them.
-Dave Taylor - I like Dave Taylor, but he was brought in to help out Regal. Regal is no longer there, so Taylor is kinda useless. Unless you bring in Burchill to tag with him?
-Eugene - One of the reasons that wrestling gets a bad name is for stupid shit like this.
-Hardcore Holly - He's done. I used to be a huge mark for him when he was with Crash and they took on the giants of the bizz. But he's done.
-Vicki Guerrero - Pay her to stay off my TV screen.
-Mark Henry - It is of my personal opinion that he sucks. Balls. Never lived up to potential. Will hurt people. Will get hurt. Will not entertain.
-Khali - Yup. But he ain't going anywhere.
-Funaki - Time's up, pal. Time's up.
-Chuck Palumbo - 2007's Tatanka. He'll be gone before too long. Nice to see he's still being gay. Although this time he's in the gay leather phase.
ECW
-Boogeyman - Please stop.
-Big Daddy V - Do these guys draw any heat? Oh yeah, another reason why wrestling gets a bad name: The fan base is not the brightest in the world.
Who's Brooke? Who's Maryse?
2) Stop the horribly gay story lines involving Vince. Blowing himself up, illegitimate children, Kiss My Ass club, ridiculing women in the middle of the ring for 20 minutes, weddings, the list goes on and on and on........ I hope Shane is smarter than this when the old guy dies from the steroid rub that has ended so many of the people he has abused over the years. And I hope Stephanie just goes away. Very far away. Or dies. It's Fates call.
3) Do away with 4 PPVs a year and insert a real edition of Saturday Nights Main Event on non PPV months. Might lose a little money, but something has to change. I fell like Owen shortly before he died. "Enough is enough and it's time for a change!"
The PPV schedule could look something like this:
January - Royal Rumble
February - Saturday Nights Main Event - Between two of the biggest shows of the year, a free "PPV" style show to pique some interest.
March - Wrestlemania
April - Whatever PPV
May - SNME
June - King of the Ring
July - SNME - During the slow summer months, a freebie to bring back even some of the casual fans.
August - Summerslam
September - Whatever PPV
October - SNME
November - Survivor Series
December - Maybe do a another Showdown in (Insert random city) PPV on a Tuesday night a week or two before Christmas. Or maybe do a PPV the Sunday between Christmas and New Years.
You'd lose 4 PPV buys, but they could eliminate the 4 least profitable ones. Of course, there is 15 (!) PPV's scheduled this year. Oversaturation.
And I'll know we are more likely to get more PPVs before we get less of them. They just don't mean as much anymore.
And I'm so glad I decided at the last minute not to get the TNA PPV this week. From the sound of what happened, I don't know if I'll be close to getting anymore of them for awhile.
I'll stop now.
