I really enjoyed this weeks impact, and between this week and destination x Hernandez of the LAX is quickly becoming one of my favorite big men of all time. It amazes me both what he can do power and speed wise, and how much character he is able to show without ever being given promo speaking time. I am really exited for the inevitable showdown between Styles and Tomko and LAX. The Samoa Joe and Christian promo's where both great, and I'm even impressed by guys like the Dudley's and Steiner stepping up their game. I've only been watching Impact since it started on Spike, and curious about the early days. I have bought the year one dvd, and was dispointed that it had only four matches on it. Does anyone know where I can find matches from TNA'S early days?
I dug the show. I LOVED the Christian/Rhino segment. Seriously, how fucking awesome was that? TNA dug up continuity from a year ago from a feud that was based on years old continuity. And it was written PERFECTLY.
I'm loving how they have handled the slow turn of Christian Cage from heel to face. For a start they didn't do the usual wrestling thing and just switch in 1 week. Even better they've let the character keep what was working while still presenting him in a more positive light.
I'm also enjoying the way they continue to dip in and out of storylines, setting things up that are then followed up on weeks or months later. It makes the whole show seem that much more rich.
I still feel like TNA is coasting a bit, with maybe a few too many comedy elements (though at least they are mainly funny). But it does seem like there's an effort to build the next PPV into something major.
Really my biggest criticism right now is that there haven't been many matches or segments that just blew me away. It's been pretty consistently decent, but not unmissable.
