Tenay Good evening everyone and welcome to another exciting online broadcast of Universal Wrestling Alliance, where you're get to see some of the greatest matches, hardest working wrestlers, and thrills in the days to come. I'm Mike Tenay, and ladies and gentlemen, I'm here to give you a rundown of what occurred on our last television broadcast, Titans of Wrestling.
Tenay: Now everyone knows that last week, Chris Benoit retained the world title in a hard fought match against Kofi Kingston, taking it to a time limit draw. We’ll have highlights for you in just a little while. And of course, the new King of the Ring champion was crowned, when Mike Awesome defeated Jerry Lynn in a Tables match. As you all know, the King of the Ring title MUST be defended in any manner the challenger picks. The tag team titles, STILL vacant after last months controversy, we’ll bring you what’s going on from the UWA board of directors as soon as they have a final ruling.
Tenay: But one of the most shocking developments came just after Awesome’s victory and folks, it was a doozy. A new face to the UWA, Amy Dumas, better known as Lita to some people, came out to the ring, accompanied by not one, but THREE other new faces to the crowd. Dynamite Kid, fresh off a recent come back tour of Japan, Desmond Wolfe recently returned after battling an illness, and Chris Candido, also making his long awaited returned to the squared circle. They joined Dumas in the ring and…well...you have to see it to believe it.
Dumas: When I first came into the business I was made a few promises from a certain “big time promoter” that everyone is pretty familiar with. I was told that I’d be given a fair shot with my skills, what I could do in the ring. I was promised money…titles…whatever it took. Stop me if you’ve heard this one before from some of the other wrestlers. Than, over time…it was “oh, well…we can’t afford to pay you what we promised, you’re not drawing like we thought. Oh Amy, we want you to pose in a bikini for this stupid photo shoot…or for this calendar.” The only way I got CLOSE to the main event, and not even as a wrestler, not even doing what I loved, was to act like a total whore on national tv. To air my personal, private life to millions of morons who can’t differentiate between fiction and fantasy in their own lives, much less things they see on a bright, shiney box.
Dumas: And back when I got hurt, do you think they gave a damn about me? Do you think they cared? No of course not. I was swept aside for some other redhead that couldn’t even spell the word wrestle, much less do it. And the same goes for ALL these men in the ring. All of them mistreated all of them abused and cast aside.
Dumas: Dynamite Kid, one of the greatest technical wrestlers ever, gets hurt, injured. Where was his help? Where was his monthly column in an online site because someone felt sorry for him? Nowhere, he was shoved aside because he’d outlived his purpose, despite winning titles world wide, despite helping set a RECORD attendance of 93,000 people. Desmond Wolfe, who was written off when he got sick, was told he wasn’t good enough to be in the main event as even the LACKEY of some 60 year old retiree who doesn’t know when to quit.
Dumas: Chris Candido, saddled with the idea that he’s a fitness trainer, and than shoved down to the bottom of the card because someone who’s on top wants to bang his girlfriend and gets jealous when he can’t! And finally, we come to maybe one of the biggest wastes. Mike Awesome. Brought in, made to burn his bridges with anyone in his past, and than what...turned into a joke, a fool. A 6 foot 6 300 pound JOKE, that was told that he needed to be different, funny. He’s not SUPPOSED to be funny, he hurts people, and he does it….very well.
Dumas: I look around at all these so called “legends” coming out. Where are OUR legend deals huh? Where are our offers to train the next generation, to be announcers, to host reality shows? We are the ones that they used up, tossed aside, but from this point on we will NOT be ignored. We will take what we want, when we want. We will no longer be the forgotten ones. We will be remembered….not as the dregs of the wrestling world…but as The Elite.
<The camera fades out from the clip, and returns to Mike Tenay in the studio>
Tenay: On the heels of that shocking development, several things have taken place. First off, Samoa Joe issued a challenge to Chris Benoit for the title, but so has Dynamite Kid. The UWA Board of Directors will have more to say about this, and much much more in the coming weeks, as we lead up to our next exciting pay per view, Zero Hour.
