OK, it occurred to me that many of you may not be familiar with the members of The Human Supremacists. So here are blurbs on each:

Bastion
Bastion started life out as two separate beings: the Sentinel Master Mold, and Nimrod, a highly-advanced Sentinel from an alternate future. While posing as a human construction worker, Nimrod unearthed a module from Master Mold. As soon as Nimrod made physical contact with the module, Master Mold's programming began to co-opt Nimrod's. Shortly after, during a conflict with the X-Men, the two of them, along with the X-Man Rogue, were blasted through the Siege Perilous, a mystical crystal capable of judging any who pass through it and reincarnating them into a new life commensurate in quality with their previous life. It was the Siege Perilous that was responsible for merging Nimrod and Master Mold into a single man of flesh with no memory of his past.

William Stryker
Rev. Stryker is a Christian fundamentalist televangelist who sees himself on a mission from God to destroy the mutant race.

Bolivar Trask
Bolivar Trask was an anthropologist who saw the rise of mutants as a threat to humanity. Bolivar decides that humanity has to fight back against the mutants and develops robotic guardians for humanity, known as the Sentinels.

Graydon Creed
Posing as German spy Leni Zauber, Mystique seduced freelance assassin Victor Creed while he was in Germany on a mission. Mystique later gave birth to a normal human child - Graydon - whom she gave up for adoption, although she kept an eye on him. When Graydon learned of his heritage, that he was the son of two mutants who had abandoned him as an inconvenience, he grew resentful of all mutants, and that resentment colored his outlook for the rest of his life.

In his adult years, Graydon formed a group called the Friends of Humanity, dedicated to opposing mutant civil rights by committing acts of terrorism against peaceful mutants and mutant sympathizers, and using the acts of violent mutants such as Magneto to rally support for their cause.

Justin Hammer
Hammer was an industrialist, like Tony Stark, but a significant part of his fortune was amassed through the funding of organized crime. When a criminal signed on as his minion, they agreed to pay him half of their profits in exchange for upgrades to their equipment and getting their bail paid in the event of an arrest.

Hammer is always seen trying to outsmart Tony Stark in every single way and shape. For example, on multiple accounts, Justin has tried to kill Tony Stark and steal his Iron Man armor to build multiple Iron men for the highest bidder. Good or evil. Hammer also has many applications in the military.

Obadiah Stane
Even since childhood Obadiah Stane was a methodical and ruthless man. Once, during a chess match, as a child he killed the dog of an opponent whose skill was equal to his own so that his opponent's mind would not be focused on the game, and Stane won.

Obadiah would later grow into a wealthy businessman who attempted to take over Tony Stark's ( Iron Man) company, Stark International. With help from a team of scientists, Stane created the Iron Monger armor which was more powerful than even Stark's own. Using the Iron Monger as a corporate mascot, Stane planned to sell the armor to the highest bidder, or produce an entire army of armors which could be used to conquer whole countries.

Upon reading further about the members of Fear, I'm wishing I had known about Ezekiel, myself, as he would've been a better fit than his papa Obadiah (who I admittedly only knew about from the Iron Man movie). Oh well, there's always next time. I really wanted Luthor to head the group when I initially envisioned it.



[Lucky]But in doing my research about the Fear members, I realized the group is far more disjointed than I had previously realized. You've got the galactic-level power-hungry villains of Sinestro and Kang, whose individual ambitions I see being a major rift. I could also buy Morg as a solid galactic-level lackey for them.

But then you throw in "The Lord of Lies" in Neron, who to me seems like DC's equivalent of Loki from what I read. He'd definitely make a grab at the team leadership, and I don't think Sinestro and Kang will take too kindly to that.

And then there are Ezekiel and Mac Gargan's version of Venom. While each is a solid villain in his own way and his own right, both just seem WAY outmatched and out-of-place with the scale of villainy the others are working in.[/Lucky]

I miss his analytical views and breakdowns on shit that shouldn't get that treatment, like tv and comics.

The biggest problem I have with Human Supremacists is it's 4 X-Men villains and 2 Iron Man villians. Luthor definitely would have helped but there are other humanish villains that could have been used as well. Kingpin, James Gordon Jr., even enhanced humans could have worked like Mr. Negative or Deadshot, etc. As a concept I really like the team, I just don't like the execution here. Not that Fear is a great team either, but I'd at least give it a shot for Sinestro.

I will fully admit to my team being a little "2-targetted" in that respect, and I almost replaced Stane with Alistair Smythe (The Spider-Slayer) for that reason. But that also means they should all be able to work together pretty damn well. I missed out on some of the other humans and meta-humans because of the nature of this draft and my focus on my top teams on either side of the bracket. I can live with that.

And I don't know how you can go criticizing Qonas for his team's apparent lack of chemistry when you just completely overlook my thoughts on Fear here being completely disjointed in favor of "well, at least there's Sinestro".

Because, againn it's about what book I'd rather read. Qonas and Byrne's teams that I have complained about seem like they'd just be bad chemistry books and would be clusterfucks to read. Fear may very well be the same, but I like Sinestro and think he's a viable enough leader to give Fear a chance over your book which I feel is way too Messiah Complex which, while I enjoyed it, has been done and I wouldn't read it over fear.

If it makes you feel better, I'd rather read the Human Supremacists over Jokes on You and Unstoppable Forces. In this specific one-on-one match, Sinestro wins it for Fear.

I went with Human Supremacists. Fear just doesn't click with me on some level.
