ok technically Day Six was yesterday, but nothing interesting really happened on the drive home from Harrisburg, so I am just going to post some of the pics from New York and Philly.
All in all, this was an awesome trip. As much as I hate New York it was cool to see Yankee stadium. I might have posted a few of them before, so you get to see them again.
Right across the street from the stadium they have a tribute to the dead Yankees players, well at least some of them. This is where we parked for the game, it cost $30, but I am not complaining. The painting (mural?) is really nice
Here is a shot of the New Stadium being built behind the old one, it is going to be crazy nice (or, to hear someone from Boston, wicked nice) when they are done
This one was for Tommy, I am pretty sure that was a Save The Whale t-shirt in Yankee Stadium
The Washington Monument outside the Art Museum in Philly, Moose with a Moose. The statue was actually VERY impressive
I'm not an art wonk, but the detail on the statue was really impressive
Moose and Rocky. Rocky and Moosewinkle?
The Rocky Steps (also known as the entrance to the Art Museum) and yes, I ran up those steps. And yes, it nearly killed me
You can't go to Philly and not get a cheesesteak, we got one from Pats and Genos, and they were fucking AWESOME
The greatest third baseman of all time, and a bunch of people who wouldn't move so I could get a good shot
Great park, the Phillies got it right, and after Veteran's Stadium, they deserve to play somewhere nice
They have an animated Liberty Bell that lights up when it gets dark. When someone hits a home run, they ring the bell. It is so much cooler than the stupid fucking apple, it is not even a competition
We got to see it ring twice during the game when Howard and Feliz went deep, then they rang the bell for like 10 minutes after the Phillies won. Very cool
Hope you guys enjoyed reading these, the trip was fantastic. We are already talking about trying to plan one for next year, either Cleveland-Pittsburgh-DC-Baltimore-Cincinnati or Chicago-Chicago-St. Louis-KC or Chicago-Chicago-Milwaukee-Minnesota, or some combination of that. Not sure if we can do it, but it will be fun as hell if we can pull it off
