I find that Venis/Bennett match very discomfiting. Though I understand there's a wrestling tradition and it's all fake, I wouldn't want to see people cheer Val in that match. (I don't think I missed Maria flirting with Val; if I did, redacted.)


I like about 3/4 of Eric's matches (REALLY like Aries/Michaels), and the ones I'm less keen on have at least one talent I like (like Pedro). While I recognize that Dash's car is solid, there are a lot fellows I know but haven't watched (including Tanahashi--which I know is my fault rather than Dash's), and nothing in particular than I love (besides Bryan/Rhodes, which has happened plenty).

I can't wrap my head around JJ not being on Arn's side. And putting him with Bennett? Ugh. Can't stand that guy at all.

I'm with Eco. The Val Stipulation creeps me out. Sorry. It's creative, just not something I want to see.

I didn't get a chance to write this week, being on vacation. But the "porn" match is a result of Val Venis coming on to Maria in a promo and The Iron Sheik suggesting the stip. Roman Reigns, as commissioner, makes it official.

Booking sees Venis win, but he'll be brutally attacked on the set before any porno filming takes place. It's an Attitude Era angle, where Venis is at his best.

Cody vs. Bryan is set up since Cody's in the Horsemen. He isn't threat, but he becomes one with this performance. Nigel sent him after Daniel Bryan. JJ turned on Arn when he refused to reform The Horsemen. Bennett is Horseman guy #4, a role that suits him. The other members fall into their roles rather easily. Cody will be pushed hard, so this is a competitive match. Card 6 would see this again (although rather impromptu).

Tanahashi is one of the best wrestlers in the world, and him vs. Nigel is a dream match for fans of international wrestling.

Again, normally this all gets written, but I was chilling on the beaches of San Diego, at Legoland and at Sea World!

Went with Eric, Dash has a good card, but it almost feels like too much is happening, like I wouldn't really have time to catch my breath from one chaotic match to the next, Eric meanwhile has an undercard that I think has some sneaky good matches on it.
