Our other semifinal matchup in the Also Rans category to crown the king/queen of the losers features Marvel's Dark Phoenix going up against DC's Bizarro. This one's gonna be open a bit longer because of New Year's and my schedule over that extended weekend.

Well, I'd argue that in this match-up as well, Bizarro is the more well-known and popular character. Or at least was before X-Men 3 brought Phoenix to the big screen.

However, it doesn't really matter if someone could identify the character by face on the street. Phoenix is the more iconic character, and brings a level to the X-Men mythos that I don't think Bizarro does for Superman. So I'm probably going to regretfully support Phoenix here, even though I'd really like Bizarro to win it all. Any counter-arguments?

Given the # of voters we had (11), this looks like it was a "who cares" matchup. OK it wasn't open as long as the Magneto/Venom matchup by a day, but still.... In any event, Dark Phoenix wins and advances to the Also-Ran finals to face Carnage.
